This session will discuss the Supreme Court Rules on
Environmental Cases, the remedies available, and how these
can be used for the protection of the environment.

This session will discuss the law requiring the integration of
Environmental Education vis--vis the Legal Education
Reform Act and how law schools should best prepare future
lawyers in combating the devastating impacts of climate

Shifting Gears: Towards a Low-Carbon Future
(Roundtable)
This session will revisit the policy basis and imperative of a
low-carbon economy and identify policy gaps, takes a look on
the governments response to climate change and the call for a
low-carbon future, and a sharing on low-carbon initiatives and
alternatives.

Zero-Waste: Is It Possible?
This session will discuss RA 9003, the Ecological Solid Waste
Management Law, updates on its implementing rules and
regulations, including the national framework for the informal
waste sector, the continuing challenges and barriers in the
implementation of the mandated Zero-Waste approach under
the law and how members of the Bar and the Bench and law
students can play a more vigorous role in ensuring compliance
by regulators and the public and private sectors.
Subject: Legal Writing and Oral Advocacy
Battling Environmental Cases in the Court Room Roundtable
This session will dwell on the status, learnings and barriers to
the Environmental Rule of Law and the enforcement of
environmental laws through judicial intervention with
discussion of actual courtroom battles handled by
environmental lawyers.
