Year 4: The Seed of Rose

Celebrating the 46th Founding Anniversary of Sta. Rosa de Lima Parish
SYMBOLISM OF SEED
Seed and sowing in stories told by Jesus
Parable of the Sower in the New Testament, Jesus uses the idea of seed
metaphorically in a parable to explain how different people receive the word
of God. Christ, who sows the word of God in human hearts, scatters the seed,
but some falls on stony ground or is choked by weeds. However, those who
receive and understand the word of God are like the good soil which nurtures
the seed (Matthew 13:3-9). In another parable he compares the Kingdom of
God to a mustard-seed, which is the smallest of all seeds' but which, as it
grows, develops into a well-established tree (Matthew 13:31-32).

Jesus also used the image of a seed to explain how his death and
resurrection would have a significant impact on the world, resulting in the
redemption of humankind. He explained that, just as a seed would not grow
unless it was buried, so he had to die and be buried before his word could be
spread: unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only
a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds' (John 12:24).
Seed as descendants'
The word seed' is also very much associated with the creation of new life
within a family. The seed of Abraham' refers to all his descendants.

WHY THE SEED OF ROSE?

We will take the word seed as the creation of new life within a family and
the word rose as our community, Sta. Rosa de Lima Parish.
The Seed of Rose means, the creation of new life within the family of Sta.

T. Eramiz (Fr. Noy), with the new born ministry, Recreation and Fellowship,
and with the new members of every organization.
HOW CAN WE HAVE NEW MEMBERS FOR OUR ORGANIZATION?
On August 23, 2015, we will be celebrating the feast of St. Rose of Lima.
Together with this celebration we shall have an Opening Ceremony for the
46th Anniversary of Sta. Rosa de Lima Parish with a recruitment session and
snacks from 7:00 AM 7:00 PM on our church patio.
This recruitment session will run for three consecutive Sundays starting
August 23, next will be on August 30, and the last Sunday will be on

booth on the said date and place to recruit willing people to join our family.
HOW CAN WE PUT UP A BOOTH FOR THE RECRUITMENT SESSION?
The recruitment area will also serve as an exhibit showing the history of
every organization of our parish. Every organization will be given a table for
them to fill up with pictures, artifacts, articles, timeline, and anything that
shows how their organization started and how it developed all through the
years. You can also give away fliers regarding your organization. One day
before the opening ceremony, every organization can already start designing
