Внеклассное мероприятие, посвященное «Дню Святого Валентина» было

проведено в 5 классe, в форме игрового конкурса, (с участием 6-классников).

Данная форма проведения мероприятия

- является благоприятным условием для реализации личностных качеств и

интеллектуальных возможностей в совместной деятельности;
- соответствует возрастным особенностям учащихся;
- способствует способности критически мыслить;
- развивает логическое мышление учащихся.
Сюжетная преемственность материала позволяет учащимся чувствовать себя
комфортно, работая с современными УМК, создавая ситуацию успеха.

ПРОВЕДЕНИЕ ДАННОГО ВНЕКЛАССНОГО МЕРОПРИЯТИЯ,

ПРЕСЛЕДУЕТ ОПРЕДЕЛЕННЫЕ ЦЕЛИ:
Воспитательные цели:
• формирование у учащегося уважения и интереса к культуре и истории страны
изучаемого языка;
• формирование познавательной активности и потребности к самообразованию и
практическому использованию иностранного языка в различных сферах
деятельности
• воспитание культуры общения;
• поддержание интереса к общению.
Развивающие цели:
• развитие языковых, интеллектуальных и познавательных способностей,
ценностных ориентаций, чувств и эмоций учащихся,
• формирование готовности к коммуникации, что обеспечивает в целом
гуманитарное и гуманистическое развитие личности ученика.
Образовательная цель:
• расширить эрудицию учащихся;
• расширить лингвистический, филологический и общий кругозор учащихся.

4. Призы: воздушные шарики в виде сердец и открытки-валентинки.

Комментарии:
Перед проведением данного мероприятия учитель организует конкурс на лучшую
открытку-валентинку. К празднику работы детей оформляются как стенгазеты.
В качестве ведущего выступает учитель, кроме первой части презентации об истории
празднования Дня святого Валентина, которую представляют несколько 6-классников.

Ход мероприятия:
Teacher:
- Dear children, dear guests, I’m glad to see you at St. Valentine’s games. First of all, I
want to ask you,
- Do you like holidays?
 - I like them too.
- What holidays do you know?
- What holiday shall we celebrate in February?
- You are right! On the 14th of February people celebrate a beautiful holiday, which is
loved by adults and children. It’s St. Valentine day. There are a lot of traditions,
customs, games and puzzles on this holiday. Let’s listen to History of Valentine’s Day.

Pupil1: There are many holidays in Britain, on which different traditions are observed. One of
such holidays is St. Valentine’s Day. It is a happy festival for young people. But it is
celebrated among persons all ages. [slide 4-5]

Pupil 2: St. Valentine’s Day is celebrated on February 14th. It is a religious holiday which is
celebrated in Great Britain, in many European countries and in the USA. This holiday
has roots in several legends. Did you know that, according to legend, Valentine’s Day
was started to Saint Valentine, a Roman saint who was executed on February 14th,
A.D.? [slide 6]

Pupil 3: Valentine was a Christian Priest in Roman empire three hundred years after the death
of Jesus Christ. He had been thrown in prison for his teaching. On the 14th of February
Valentine was beheaded, not only because he performed a miracle – he cured the jailers
daughter from her blindness. The night before he was executed – but he wrote a letter
to the girl, singing it “From your Valentine”. [slide 7]

Pupil 4: Another Valentine was an Italian bishop who lived at about the same time. He was
imprisoned because he secretly married couples, contrary to lows of the Roman
emperor. [slide 8]

Pupil 1: The 14th of February was a Roman holiday, held in honour of the Goddess of love.
Young men by lottery chose the name of young girl to escort to the festivals. The
custom choosing a sweetheart on this date has continued to our day. People still
believe that birds pick their mates on the 14th of February. [slide 9]

Pupil 2: The symbols of this holiday are Hearts, Roses and Cupid. [slide 10]
HEARTS
Along time ago, people believed that all the emotions were found in the heart. In later
years, they thought only the emotion of love was connected with the heart. The heart is
still a symbol of love, and it is also a symbol of Valentine’s Day. [slide 11]

Pupil 3: ROSES
The rose was the Flower of Venus, the Roman god of love. Red is a colour that stands
for strong feeling. That is why the red rose is a flower of love. [slide 12]

RED ROSE – love and passion
YELLOW ROSES – Friendship
WHITE ROSES – True love and purity of the mind
ORANGE ROSES – Enthusiasm and desire
PINK ROSES – Friendship or Sweetheart

Pupil 4: CUPID
One of the early symbols of love is Cupid, the Roman God of Love. Winged and
 mischievous little angel called Cupid traces its origin from the Roman mythology
as the son of Venus – the Goddess of Love. It is believed that Cupid had a bow
with arrows and anyone hit by his arrow fell in love.
In Greek mythology, Cupid is known by the name of Eros and as son of Aphrodite-
the Greek Goddess of Love. [slide 14]

Pupil 1: The Custom of Sending Valentine Cards

St. Valentine’s Day is not an official holiday but people in many countries celebrate
it in a very special manner. They send a greeting cards to the people they love. Such
cards are called “Valentines”. The custom of sending Valentines started in the middle
ages. The oldest one we know was made in 1445. [slide 15]

Pupil 2: These cards have the magical power to melt the stony hearts and fill the with love
and the people who have already fallen for someone; valentine' cards can do wonders
in touching the deepest emotions of their darling's heart. [slide 16]
Look at the next slide. It is example of Valentine card. [slide 17]

Teacher: Today, a valentine card is usually accompanied by the more elaborate gifts of
candy, flowers and perfume. Presents are packed in red heart-shaped boxes.

Конкурс 7. GAME “Valentine Post Office”

Teacher: OK. Do you like to plаy games? All children like to play games. Let’s play then.

Играющие усаживаются в круг, один человек – в центре круга, и один человек – за

кругом. Ученик за кругом – почтальон Postman, который произносит: “I have a valentine
from … to …”, называя имена двух участников игры. Эти два игрока должны быстро
поменяться местами, в то время, как игрок в центре пытается занять место одного из них.
Если ему это удается, то тот, кто остался без места, усаживается в центр круга.

Конкурс 8. GAME “Mend a Broken Heart”

Участники из противоположных команд играют парами. Необходимо заранее
Разрезать сердце на две части так, чтобы разрез был неровный. Одна половинка
прикрепляется к доске, другую надо повесить с закрытыми глазами так, чтобы получилось
одно целое. ( Из каждой пары один участник получает жетон).

Конкурс 9. “RED THINGS GAME”

Красный цвет – цвет праздника Святого Валентина. По сигналу за 3 минуты
каждая команда на листе бумаги должна записать как можно больше названий предметов
красного цвета. Побеждает команда, чей список окажется самым длинным.
