GENERAL INFORMATION
Project Title
: Strengthening of the Industry Promotion Section
through the
Provision of Portable I.T. Equipment

II.

RATIONALE
The assigned personnel shall create and maintain an atmosphere of
cooperation and trust with all key industry stakeholders from both the
private and public sectors. Continuous communication and personal
interaction with these stakeholders, most of whom are residing and
operating in far flung barangays in the City is imperative. The same is
true for the regular conduct of key activities such as skills and
capability building trainings. These, however are best done in the
stakeholders area of operation to ensure their participation. Also, a
strong database and set of monitoring tools must be developed and
maintained to keep track of the each of the industrys growth in terms
of generation of investment, employment and sales.
To effectively carry out the aforementioned tasks, it is requisite for the
personnel to be equipped with I.T. equipment, especially computers. To
date, there are two technical staff assigned in the Section, both of
whom were not yet provided with the said equipment. The provision of
computers shall allow them to commence with the implementation of
their planned programs, projects and activities. Also in consideration to
their need for field visits, environmental scanning and personal
interaction with the stakeholders in the area, a portable computer is
best suited; thus The Provision of Portable I.T. Equipment is proposed.

OBJECTIVES AND EXPECTED RESULTS

This project aims to strengthen the performance of the Industry
Promotion Section through the provision of Portable I.T. equipment
The provision of the equipment is expected to facilitate the generation
of the following results:
1. Effective and efficient implementation of planned programs, projects
and activities (to include preparation of project proposals,
preparation of pertinent documents, actual conduct of activities,
preparation of reports, and liquidation);

2. Creation and maintenance of database (of industry stakeholders,

programs, projects and activities planned and conducted,
interventions and assistances);
3. Creation, maintenance and use of sets of tools to monitor the
generation of investment, jobs and employment of each of the six
(6) industries; and
4. Timely and competent reports.
