It all started with the need of knowledge.

I wanted to know everything I could about a

theatre stage before applying for Assistant Director at the annual Universidad del Valle de
Mxico (UVM) campus Tlalpan high school play under teacher Alejandirna Castaeda
order.
I got the job, and in the blink of an eye I was in charge of 70 students at least, some of
which, were there more for a grade than for the love of theatre, but I managed to keep
every situation in control at the stage at the same time as I kept my own education and
grades safe. I solved every problem, from broken clothes to sudden sadness from the
actors and actresses, and not once did I fail in any of my tasks, even when I wasnt quite
sure about the task to be done.
Personally, I think thats when you now you have social and leadership skills, not when you
just think youre prepared, but when even absolutely frightened of whats coming, you
keep your chin up and solve every problem and deal with every issue the life throws at you
and the people that surrounds you, and even better, the prevention of any problem that
may or may not happen.
With that experience in hand, I got so good at my job that I even became a Regular
assistant for the theatre class, and then a regular organizer and helper from the Literature
and History Academy at UVM, thanks to the teachers who saw my potential and helped
me in my way to success.
With those experiences I learned about team work and leadership as much as I learned
from friendship and dreams, and in those isolated cases I had to, I learned that sometimes
success comes from failure.
From that on, at 5 grade of high school, I was in charge of a lot projects and people, some
of which, to this day, ask for my help and advice about a great variety of topics, from
theatre and film advice to social issues Im often involved in, such as: the human rights,
minorities and discrimination, equality of genders, self esteem and self care, education and
culture.
This being on a regular basis, Ive been invited to the online radio show el programa de
hueva to discuss controversial topics and society taboos, as for I have 13 year old
experience as a co-host at the IMERs radio show La pandilla 710 at 710am were cultural
and social issues are commonly discussed by and for kids and teenagers.
I really do believe knowledge is the key to change and the world is changing constantly so
we really need to orientate it, without knowledge wed be lost and thats what I try to do
and share every day. Everything I learn must be shared, to have a great team and do a
great work and lift up the lid and be greater than great and chase every goal.
Less detailed but still important, Im currently studying Theatre and every two months we
have to start a project from scratch, establish a work team, and organize every other thing

that is needed to reach our goal, all of that taking care of the public, the team, the budget
and of course the success of the project and our own success.
This is why my preparation and experience put me in a great place. I posses not only the
leadership skills, but the team, work, empathy, solidarity and social skills to accomplish
almost every assignment that is given to me. And my contribution to society is less
practical than some people wouldve wish but this is who I am, Im a thinker, Im a speaker,
Im a learner and then a Teacher. Of course I donate to the red cross and every once in a
while I help shelters and homeless people but what I like the most is discovering and
sharing, as I said before, we can prevent the problems if we have the correct information
and the right way to do this is through enlightenment and to be quite honest I rather be
known as the person who knew what to do than the person who did a lot but got nothing
done
I think its never late to change the world and is never too early to start changing ourselves,
because sometimes is hard to accept we are wrong, its hard to embrace the change but it
is there, right in front of us.
We need to learn, we need to discover, we need to grow. For every problem there is, one
of us has the solution, we just need to hear ourselves, and we need to give people a voice.
I may be the girl with too many opinions but this is my chance and Im taking it.
