1. Kutai Automatic Transfer Switches

To achieve continuity of power an installation can be provided with an ATS / Automatic
Transfer Switch. The ATS / Automatic Transfer Switch is also known as an Automatic Transfer
Switch Control Panel.

Kutai Automatic Transfer Switch Control Panels consist of three basic elements:
1.

Main contacts to connect and disconnect the load to the source of power.

2.

A Basic Transfer Switch (BTS) to affect the transfer of the main contacts from one source
to another

3.

A programmable controller to constantly monitor the condition of the power sources and
provide the intelligence necessary for the switch and related circuit operation, i.e. circuit
breakers

Kutai Automatic Transfer Switches are available with both indoor and outdoor enclosures.

All

Kutai ATS / Automatic Transfer Switches comply with IEC60947-6-1 standard.

Types of ATS Switches

Kutai ATS Control Panels are available with two types of Basic Transfer Switches -

Power Contactor ATS with TC-V2 digital controller. (Double Throw Type, 2- and 3- pole)
The Double throw ATS is specifically designed to switch between two power sources and has one
drive mechanism.

Circuit Breaker ATS with ATS-22 Controller (MCCB circuit breaker, 3- and 4- pole)
A circuit breaker ATS is made of two single throw devices, this makes it necessary to
add an interlock. The interlock rides on top of the single throw motorized breaker mechanisms.
This interlock is required to prevent the possibility of the individual mechanisms moving
independently closed simultaneously.

Kutai Power Contactor-type ATS Control Panels

Power Contactor ATS are a modular design based on a double throw switch with a
programmable controller and an enclosure. Ideal for household power systems and
telecommunication cell sites, with rated current of 125A and rated voltage 110 Vac or 220 Vac
single-phase to choose from. These switches can be electrically or manually operated

Kutai Circuit Breaker type Automatic Transfer Switches

Based on moulded-case circuit-breakers (MCCB) with mechanical interlock and offered in 3- and 4- pole
models all Kutai standard ATS Control Panels include the ATS-22 (Intelligent Controller), PTM-100 /
PTM-400 (Power Transformer Module), BTS (Basic Transfer Switch), connection harness and an indoor
enclosure (outdoor type is optional).

Air Circuit Breaker Type (ACB) Transfer Switch

Kutai ACB ATS Air Circuit breaker type, 3- and 4-pole Automatic Transfer Switch start with rated current
from 800 Amp and going up to 6,300 Amp.

Customers can select from desired brand and capacity of ACB to be installed. The Standard ACB type
ATS package includes ATS-22 (Intelligent Controller), PTM-400 (Voltage Transformer Module), ACB (Air
Circuit Breaker), connection harness and indoor enclosure (outdoor type is optional).

Remote Monitoring, Control and Annunciator System

The ATS-22 programmable controller is standard with all circuit breaker ATS models and has a
Communication Port for connecting Remote Monitoring and Control Options.

The Communication Port is standard on all Kutai ATS Programmable Controllers detailed In Section 2.
that follows, including the ATS-PLC, as well as the Automatic Mains Failure module (AMF-10)

The following Remote Monitoring and Control capabilities can be obtained by selecting the appropriate
option below for your installation:

KCU modules - USB / RS-485 / Ethernet / Wi-Fi Communication Modules

The KCU modules offer a selection of standard Communication Protocols through the
following models

KCU-01 module communicates via USB Modem

KCU-02 module communicates via RS-485 Module

KCU-03 module communicates via Ethernet connection (For Static IP Connection)

RA-485 Color Touch Screen Remote Annunciator

The RA-485 is a micro-processor based 5.7" Touch Screen Remote Annunciator. Able to connect and
monitor up to four Kutai ATS & ECU controllers simultaneously the remote annunciator provides
Synchronous Display of real-time information (V, A, Hz, etc.) with built in Alarm output.

The remote annunciator is connected via RS485 and automatically configures to RS485 protocol
allowing the user to remotely operate the monitor.

SMS-100

SMS GSM Messenger System for Genset Controller

SMS-100 can monitor Engine Control Units (ECU) and ATS controller's operation status automatically,
and is able to provide alarm message via SMS message to notify user. The user can also use SMS to
modify the controller system parameters and configuration

2. Kutai Programmable ATS Controllers

The primary function of the Programmable ATS Controllers is to monitor power sources and provide the
necessary intelligence to operate a transfer switch in an appropriate and timely manner.

The ATS controller continuously monitors the voltage value of the system and automatically switches to
the generator or transformer, after a preset delay. This delay allows the activation time of the procedure
in case of faults to be regulated, preventing unwanted switching due to voltage variations that are
acceptable to the installation

When the main voltage returns within acceptable limits, the ATS transmits a signal to activate
back-switching so as to return to the initial conditions.

Adding redundancy to an ATS Controller installation and the ability to manage multiple generators can be
obtained by choosing specific Kutai ATS controller models designed to add these features.

ATS-22 Programmable Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) Controller

The ATS-22 is a multifunction programmable logic automatic transfer switch controller. Suitable for 1
phase and 3 phase system, including all necessary monitoring and protections. The ATS-22 is available
for both indoor and outdoor use:

Communication Port.

ATS-33 Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) Controller for Dual Gensets

ATS-33 controller is specially design for dual-generator power system where a location is without utility
power

The ATS-33 design is specifically tailored for the dual-generator power system: a two-generator system,
one primary generator and its back-up or stand-by generator.
The ATS-33 controller manages the automatic start-up and transfer of load between the primary and
stand-by generators, whether the power-loss is an unexpected event or scheduled.

Additionally, the controller can be programmed to deliver a set operation duty cycle, which enables both
the primary and stand by generators to operate in relay duty. It provides all the necessary administration
to ensure that the ATS switch operates properly through a series of programmed sensing and timing
functions.

ATS-34 Redundant Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) PLC Controller

We use the ATS-34 to control a second ATS in a redundant emergency ATS system. (see figure below).

A redundant ATS system consists of two ATS, the first ATS being a standard ATS-22 that triggers the
second ATS using the ATS-34 control. This second ATS control selects which of backup generators is
the first to run and, in the case of a failed start or a breakdown, restores power by switching to a second
generator

The ATS-34 Controller provides programming flexibility for the two backup generators. Therefore, the
ATS switch operates properly through a series of sensing and timing functions ATS-34 controller allows
you to control the generator duty cycle and alternate operation of the two generators.

ATS-PLC

The ATS-PLC is a programmable multi-function touch-screen automatic transfer switch controller with a
5.7 inch color touch screen. It incorporates internally most operational relays and can easily replaces all
conventional ATS controller.

The interface is friendly with plenty of settings and configurations to suit almost all ATSs. It works with
single phase/3 phase 3 wires/ 3 phase 4 wires systems.

Can be easily adapted to almost all types ATS switches from numerous manufacturers, and can be used
as a retrofit controller to update an existing switch or in the assembly and constructions of new Transfer
Switches.

The ATS-PLC is equipped with the optional USB, RS485, and Ethernet remote communication functions
to allow remote operation.

3. Kutai components for Low Voltage (LV) Switchgear

Kutai Basic Transfer Switches (BTS) and other components can be purchased separately for installation
in generator set and Low Voltage (LV) Switchgear applications. We also supply our Programmable ATS
Controller, Automatic Mains Failure Module (AMF), Power Transformer Modules and Molded-case
Circuit Breakers (MCCB) for integration into your system.

Basic Transfer Switches

Power Contactor Basic Transfer Switches (BTS), Double-throw, 2- and 3-pole
Double-throw, mechanically interlocked transfer mechanism, preventing connection of both sources.

The open transition contactor-based transfer switch is the most basic design that will provide a fully functioning
automatic transfer switch.

Circuit breaker type Basic Transfer Switches (BTS), MCCB, 3- and 4- pole
BTS3BExxxx/ BTS4BExxxx series are 3- and 4-pole manual and motor operated type Basic Transfer
Switch based on MCCB. These switches are the basis of the Circuit Breaker type ATS described in
Section 2. and all current and voltage ratings of switches available are listed there.

Programmable ATS Controllers

Kutai Programmable ATS controllers are covered in detail in Section 3. above.

Kutai Programmable controllers are compatible with almost all BTS switches from other manufacturers
and easily integrated into existing generator systems.

The ATS-PLC detailed above can also work in

this role.

All Kutai Programmable ATS Controllers have a Communication Port for Remote Monitoring and Control
Options.

All KCU modules listed in Section 1. can be obtained by purchased as options with the ATS-22,

easily adding the desired communication capability to any installation.

Automatic Mains Failure (AMF) module

The AMF-10 is a universal Automatic Mains Failure Control & Protection Module.

The AMF-10 is a control and protection module for the generator and a monitoring controller for the
Automatic Transfer Switch. The AMF10 has a modular design with easy to read high-illumination LED
display with universal warning symbols and easy to operate interface.

All functions settings can be programmed directly from the front panel.

The AMF module is equipped with optional USB, RS485, and Ethernet remote communication expansion
slot, allowing user to purchase optional communication modules for alternative remote monitoring and
operation detailed in Section 1.

An optional AMF-10R universal AMF Controller Interface Module (relay module) is available for the
AMF-10 to simplify the wiring and connection process.

Power Transformer Modules

PTM-100 / PTM-400

ATS Transformer Modules are designed with pluggable terminal block to simplify ATS installation. These
are best used with system voltage 208 to 480 Vac.

Molded-case Circuit Breakers (MCCB)

Molded-case circuit breakers are utilized to open/close low-voltage circuits and protect wiring by
automatically closing circuits when overloading or short-circuiting occurs.
