Vacancy Announcement: Church Administrator


Applications are invited from qualified and suitable candidates for the position of Church Administrator
tenable at CIC offices in Blantyre, Zomba, Lilongwe and Mzuzu:
1. Key Qualifications and Experience
1.1.
Job Requirements (Competencies):

Committed Christian with a track record of a doer of the Word of God


Can conceptualise his/her administrative and managerial work as ministry and verbalise
the function of the job as ministry.
Initiator, visionary and analytical thinker
Practices, emphasises and fosters effective communication in the church organisation.
Team player and ability to manage a consensus decision-making process.
Good working knowledge of computer systems and applications.
Timely and consistent attendance and availability;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Attention to detail and precision in all church documents.
A commitment to confidentiality of both of the church and staff, and the members

1.2.
Education and Experience
Diploma in Administration/Accounting/Human Resources.
At least three years experience in a similar job and work environment
Conversant with church operational requirements and guidelines
2. Main Job Responsibilities
The Church Administrator shall perform the following functions:

Works with the Pastor-In-Charge to develop strategy to support the Church mission.
Implements the General Terms and Conditions of Service.
Implements relevant policies, manuals and procedures of the church including the
Financial Policy Document and the Financial Management and Accounting Manual.

Drafts operational and projects annual budgets in liaison with the Finance Committee.

Develops processes and procedures to support fiscal responsibility in the areas of


accounting, budgeting and purchasing.

Compiles and submits weekly, monthly and annual financial reports;

Implements approved budgets in line with agreed objectives.

Operates bank accounts and manages church funds.

Liaises with other organizations and Churches on administration and financial issues.

Inducts new members of staff.

Drafts and checks staff performance assessment reports before submission to the PastorIn- Charge.

Reviews administrative and financial procedures.

Manages and maintains Church properties and other assets.

Reviews and recommends staff salaries and benefits.

Keeps custody of confidential matters relating to Administration and Finance.

Coordinates administrative and financial activities of associate/satellite Branches

Fosters professional development by identifying employee developmental needs and


encouraging continuing education opportunities.

Maintains personal files and records for senior staff.
