WHITE FIELDS

National Church
Planters
Conference

January 4-7, 2006

Christian
Development
Center
Tagaytay City

Most of the 160

church planters
pose for a
souvenir picture.

The church
planters were so
eager to learn
from the speakers
as well as with
each other.

The combination
of Missionary
speakers and
Filipino lecturers
was a dynamic
blend of wisdom
and practical
expertise.
Rev. Cornelio Castillo
sharing his life and
wisdom to his beloved
Filipino church planters.

Pastor Stephen Lonetti, Pastor Steve Wheeler and Dr. Trevor Craigen ministered to pastors,
sharing their conviction on the importance of Biblical perspective of the Church, Worship and
the preaching of sound, unadulterated Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. All the topics moved and
reawakened the pastors towards what is Biblically sound against the extreme secularism that is
becoming prevalent in churches of today.
Music was very much part of the conference
too. There were gifted musicians and singers
among the church planters who are potential
recording artists.

The Music during the conference was a

combination of traditional hymns and
contemporary Christian music.

Church planters benefited from the donated

clothes coming from Angelo Palo and team from
US, from Nelson Reed of Action, Tim Holwerda
of CRWM, Pastor Joel Alfonso of CCF, and
Pastor Fred Montes of Bread from Heaven CF.
Dr. Tom Clinton and Brother Rey Isadora helped
some non-White Fields to reach the conference
too.

Most of those who avail are pastors from the

provinces.
Old pictures of CP were posted all over the
conference hall for them to claim.
There were donated books coming from North America, From CGM and others. The CLAIM
sets are handed to all church planters. The extra books were raffled to church planters as rewards
for any things the Conference assistants decided to. Three CPU’s were handed by lots (raffle).

The Church planters Manual of White

Fields were handed to all church planters
during the seminar. Along with it is a set
of books from CLAIM (7 of them), CD’s
of Dr, John MacArthur’s sermons and
the Foundations Book of systematic
Theology in Tagalog donated by Pastor
Ralph LaRosa of Lucena Bible Church.

The remaining copies are all stocked

temporarily at the White Fields guest
room. The thrust for 2006 is to get the
manuals to the provinces with a training
component that goes with it. Pastor Leo
will be traveling and working with
groups of pastors in regions of the
country to stir up the passion of
effectively planting healthy churches all
over the country.

This is a major prayer for 2006.

Elma Ordiales was the only lady in the
conference. We thought we can do it with
100% men but who can live without a
woman ☺

She organizes the clothes and other items for

give away plus so many other things a
woman’s eye sees.

We honored the elders of the conference.

These are men who have planted many
churches over the years. We got them in
panel and interviewed them about their
experiences in church planting that will
be very helpful for new church planters.

They really ministered and inspired the

young men with their experiences and
faith.

New Church planters receive

instructions from Elma and Grant Skoog
about reporting and other related matters
in the local office. These men were also
placed in hot seats. Most church planters
asked them questions especially in the
area of perseverance. Later they were
encouraged and prayed for by all church
planters.
At the end of the conference, Pastor
Stephen Lonetti, Pastor Steve Wheeler,
Dr, Trevor Craigen and Grant Skoog
was asked to stand in the midst of 160
church planters. In chorus that church
planters prayed for all of them and
appreciated God for their ministry for
Filipinos

50 church planters who have confirmed were not able to

come for emergency reasons. Some for inability to travel
due to bad roads caused by bad weather.

Two church planters informed us tow separate concerns.

One had his church burned down the night before the
conference. This includes their house since they live in a
parsonage adjacent to the sanctuary. The other pastor had
a heart failure and that his wife and children were sick
too.

Even with a few pesos to spare the church planter decided

to help their fellow workers. They gave for the two
pastors and remarkably the conference was able to gather
a good amount for the two pastors to split up.

Two pastors were assigned to bring the gift personally to

them.

The conference became organized through the

handling of Conference Assistants (CA) coming from
the current church planters in the program headed by
Pastor Roy Casido. They were assigned to groups of
10 and acted as dorm leaders.
It also gave them joy as they became servants of
fellow pastors. It became a lot easier for White Fields
staff to focus on other matters. We thank God for
them!
It was an exhausting conference but
it is worth the trip for our dear
speakers. Pastor Stephen ponders
about the impact of their ministry.

Not in the picture always is Pastor

Steve Wheeler (I don’t know why?).
He takes a lot of pictures. No picture
of Pastor Leo too.

To look at nature is such a relief and

refreshing. It reminds us that God is
great and He is always in control
even in the midst of stressful time
during the conference.

The joy of seeing and meeting

everybody offsets beyond measure
the exhaustion we all experienced.
Church planters will travel back to
their provinces carrying loads of
books, waiting for buses, boarding
ships and smaller means of
transportations.

At the end of the day, we all are smiling

and happy in what has happened. We
cannot imagine how the ministry will
echo down the lives of the people these
dear church planters will touch, until we
see each other again.

Glory to God!

Pastor Leo C. Ordiales
