The fee for the RP per applicant (talent and spouse) greater than 18 years old is
RM2,000.00.
The fee for each dependant under 18 years old is RM1,500.00.
This fee does not include the multiple entry visa charges depending on the nationality
of the RP applicant. Details of Malaysian multiple entry visa charges are available at
http://www.imi.gov.my/index.php/en/visa/visa-fees on the Visa fees page.
However, only an amount of RM200.00 per applicant is to be paid at time of
application. The balance fees will be required once the application is approved and the
passports are submitted for issuance of the RP.

8. Is there any minimum salary cut off for RP Talent eligibility?
Foreign talent should be earning a minimum gross annual salary (inclusive of all taxable
components) of RM144,000.00 in order to qualify as top talent and be eligible for the RP Talent.
9. Which agency do I deal with when applying for the RP Talent?
The Government has appointed TalentCorp to liaise with the RP Talent applicants and we are
partnering with the eXpats Service Centre to implement the initiative. Users can apply online at

10. What happens to my Employment Pass (EP) once I am awarded the RP Talent?
The RP Talent applicant will be required to furnish his original passport once his application
reaches Immigration for approval. Immigration will cancel the Employment Pass on the passport
and issue the RP-Talent.
11. What is the turnaround time for the application?
The turnaround time after submission of complete application, with all required documents, is
approximately 2 months for online application. However for manual submission, it will take more
than 2 months as all communications will be through postal mails only. You are highly encouraged
to submit online.
12. Will my employer be consulted as part of the RP Talent application process? If yes, who will call
my employer?
Yes, once the application reaches Immigration for final approval, the employer will be called to
facilitate cancellation of Employment Pass in before issuing the RP-Talent.
13. Who is eligible to be my local contact person?
Any Malaysia citizen aged 21 years and above is eligible to be a local contact person for any RP
Talent applicant.
14. Do we need to submit a copy of the local contact persons NRIC (MYKAD)?
Yes, youre required to submit a copy of the local sponsors NRIC (front and back page)
15. Will my family be eligible for the RP Talent as well?
The immediate family (spouse and children below 18 years) of an RP Talent holder is also eligible.
16. Can my spouse also work with a RP Talent?
Yes, a spouse of an RP Talent holder is free to work in Malaysia.
17. What is the status of parents / parents in law of RP Talent holder?
The parents and in laws of RP Talent are eligible to apply for social visit pass. It can be approved
for 10 years and subject for pass endorsement on a yearly basis.
18. Can an agent/appointed person submit an RP application on behalf of a talent?
No agent/appointed person is allowed to submit on behalf of a talent. Talents are required to
submit their application by themselves through our online service or manual.
19. Must the Recommendation Letter (from a Regulatory Agency) be in Bahasa Malaysia?
We accept Recommendation Letters either in Bahasa Malaysia or English.
20. To whom should the Recommendation Letter be addressed to?
