Greetings from Zimbabwe. It hasbeen a long time since Ihave written toyou but it isnot because nothing hasbeen
happening, rather thatso much has been going on that Ihave not gotten it on paper.
ZIMBABWE CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
Since my retum toZimbabwe in November we have had many of the College staff in the States because of their
health orregular furlough, so theonesofusthatare here have beentrying tocover all the bases. By January we
are expecting all ofthem to be back in Zimbabwe and Martin Lawrence, a graduate ofZCC, hascompleted his
training at Kentucky Christian College and is back ready to start teaching this month. We are thankful that ban
and Esther Burr;i^ Ipaye co/rie to work with usfrom May to December of this year. We have also had some tense

extensions. Through theyearswe have had theBible College in three locations andIhave taught in it at all three
places. This last week-end we attended the national church conference. It was exciting to greet people that Ihave
known for many years. Several of my former students came to shake my hand and acknowledge me as their
teacher. At least one of these was from 1963. Ithinkthat the training of preachers and leaders for our churches
is very important.
CENTRAL AFRICA MISSION EVANGELISTIC LITERATURE SERVICES
In most ofmy letters toyou Ihave told you what has already happened. But this time Iamsharing with you some
plans for thefuture. Frances Johnson hasworked with CAMELS Print Shop in Masvingo for msuiy years. Shehas
plans toretire attheend of 1992 and was concerned that there would besomeone totake herplace. Ihave agreed
to dothis and will spend as much time as possible during school breaks in the meantime to become acquainted
with themanagement oftheshop. Besides a trained leadership, wealso need printed materials for thechurches
touse andif we do not keep CAMELS in production this will never be accomplished. Some ofyou will remember
thatwhen Ilived in Masvingo Iraised money for thedown payment on a house. Formany years now theJohnsons
have lived in that house and have been making paymentsand improvements. At the present time ithas been paid
off and when I move, it will again become my home.
CAR
At the end of December Isold the 1981 VW Passat stationwagonwhich Ihad been driving forseveral years. Since
Jack and Peggy Pennington were away Idrove their carfor a while and now Ihave a 1991 Opel Kadett Cub. Iam
so thankful to have a dependable car and enjoy notcounting the garage my second home.
TEACHING
Are you a teacher? Would you be able to come to take my place in Harare? At Zimbabwe Christian College my
subject is Christian Education. After the students have Principles and Methods ofChristian Education, some of
them go to agovernment school nearby and teach Bible on Monday mornings. Those who complete 40 hours of
practice teaching are supposed to get a special certificate, but more important than the certificate is that some of
them fall in love with teaching. Ialso teach Religious andMoral Education at Hatfield High which isa government
school. This year Iam teaching Form 1students. Iplan to have them next year when they are in Form 2and at
the end of that year they will take a government exam. Some of the 140 students will decide to take Luke and Acts
during Form 3 and 4 years. At the present time Tim Sandefur isdoing those classes, as well as working with a
campus ministry atthe University of Zimbabwe. Please thank the Lord that we have the opportunity to teach His
Word in the schools of Zimbabwe.
For the last two weeks I have notbeen running as fast as usual. While sight seeing at the balancing rocks I
broke a bone in my left foot. Now Ican wear shoeswith good support and am able todrive thecar. Please
pray that it heals properly. Thank you for your concem for the Lord's work in Zimbabwe.
Yours in Christ,
