Anastasios Giamouridis leads LNG capabilities development at Pyry Management Consulting, and is involved in gas and
power project finance, transaction support, and contract dispute resolution. Previously, he worked in energy and politics
with the Gas Programme of the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, the Gas Supply Department of the Greek Public Gas
Corporation (DEPA SA), the Downstream Oil Practice of PFC Energy, and the U.K. House of Commons.

Nikos Tsafos is president and chief analyst at enalytica, a company he co-founded in 2014 to transform how the energy
industry finds and uses information. He was previously with PFC Energy, where his portfolio included managing the global
gas consulting practice and leading the firms research on global gas.

As capital requirements
grow, the case for
project finance with
limited or no recourse
to the parent becomes
increasingly compelling.
Project finance is widely used to finance largescale infrastructure projects in general, and oil
and gas projects in particular. High initial capital
costs combined with reliable cash flows and robust
margins, as a result of either strong market demand
(oil) or long-term contracts (gas pipelines and
LNG), make these projects attractive for limited
recourse investment. Between 2008 and 2014,
almost $1.5 trillion was raised worldwide in project
finance across different economic sectors, with
