Layoff Decision

Who gets laid off and why?

o Dave Jones
For me, Dave should be the first one to go. He is not
well liked by the coworkers. He has also been
employed for less than a year. Having all the
employees liking each other and being in a happy
work environment will help greatly with the work
being accomplished, which is worth the risk of being
accused of being biased against African Americans.
o Sherman Soltis
Although he has been employed for the company for
14 years, and is friends with the VP, he has only had
average ratings. We have better employees and
need to do what is best for the company.
o Robert Treharne
I have decided to layoff Robert Treharne because we
have better and younger employees still with better
potential. Robert has only been average and slightly
above average and we feel as if he has negatively
been affected by his loneliness and do not want him

to drop below average.

Who stays and why?
o William Foster
I would keep William because he has been with the
company for 20 years, 15 of which he has had
excellent ratings. Although the past 5 years havent
been his best, I am sure we can get him back to his
old self.
o Warren Fortuna

I would keep him because he has been with the

company for so long and once held a supervisor
position. He may be a little slow sometimes, but he
still has the experience and knowledge that many

may be lacking.
o Donald Boyer
I would keep Donald because he does have his B.S.
and M.S. in engineering and even though he has
received some average reviews, he has also received
high ones as well. His coworkers also like him, which
makes for a productive work environment.
o Ann Shuster
I would keep her because she has her B.S. and is
going to night school to get her M.S. and improve her
skills. She has worked for WSI for 3 years, so she
knows the in and outs by now and has had above
average reviews.
o Sandra Rosen
She is young, has her B.S., is a very hard worker and
well liked by all employees including Tartaro
o Roger Allison
Although a new recruit, I believe he just needs a
chance to prove himself, which he hasnt had. He is
also well liked by everyone which helps the work

environment stay on track.

I am in-between an ISTJ and INTJ
o This means that I put both emphasis on facts, details and
concrete knowledge, as well ass, possibilities, imagination,
creativity, and seeing things as a whole. I also tend to put
emphasis on analysis using logic and rationality rather
than human values, friendships, and decisions based on
beliefs and dislikes.
