On the Dramatic Narrative of Hamlet by Shakespeare

Abstract: T he narrat iv e circle has long been studying t he narrat ive of fo lkt ales, myt hs and novels
w it h t he except ion o f drama, but in f act dr am a is also a nar rative st yle. T he dramat ic narrativ e t ech
niques have been discussed throug h t he analysis of H am let . First o f all, t he ext erior f ocalized narrat io n
w it h many nar rato rs in H am let not only reveals characters( inner w orld, but also const it ut es a par ticular
narrat ive at mo sphere so as t o im prov e t he st rengt h of narrat ive and impel it s prog ress. Secondly, as a
! t rickst er, t he perf ormance o f ! play - w it hin- play f unctio ns as t he pivot al turning point in the dra
m at ic narrative of t he play. F inally, H am let , the King, dom inat es t he nar rative of t he play as t he ! King
of nar rat ive. All in all, t he abov e mentioned nar rat ive st rat eg ies show Shakespeare( s unique dramat ic
narrat ive t echniques and posit ively inf luence t he later dram at ist s, so the art o f drama is im pro ved.
