On Friday the Arizona Star revealed shocking allegations from Susan Easer, a
Pima County Prosecutor, regarding TPD Officers intimidating a rape victim as
she testified in court, resulting in Tucson Police Chief Villasenor banning all TPD
officers from attending the rest of the trial.

The case stems from an alleged incident that occurred in January 2009, when the
victim, a Pima County Sheriff Deputy, was allegedly raped and sodomized in her
east-side Tucson home by Michael Canizales, a fellow Deputy Sheriff.

The TPD sex crimes unit declined to file charges but after the alleged victim
testified before a grand jury in June 2009 Canizales was indicted on multiple
sexual-assault counts.

Pima County Prosecutor Eazer went to her superiors when she realized several
members of the TPD sex-crimes unit were in the courtroom when the alleged
victim testified Tuesday, the same unit that "immediately decided not to believe
the victim" and was angry Canizales was indicted, Eazer said.

The detectives sat on the defense side of the courtroom, and were seen on breaks
shaking hands with Storie and the defendant, and acting "buddy-buddy," Eazer
said.

“Their behavior could influence jurors, and was intimidating for the victim, who
they treated with so little dignity," Eazer said.

"I've never seen the whole sex-crimes unit show up with their badges and their
guns on, and this is a case they were very angry was issued," the prosecutor said.

She said Villaseñor must have agreed or he wouldn't have issued his edict.

TPD Intimidation is Well Documented

“So, when it comes to the issue of TPD officers intimidating the public, What’s
New Pussycat?” said Tucson Political Activist Roy Warden.

“For years, Tucson police officers have been intimidating me and other political
activists who challenge Tucson Open Border Policy, at least since 2004 when they
refused to protect the author of Arizona Proposition 200 Kathy Mckee from
Pendejo Thugs who were spitting on her when she appeared at a rally in support
of Glen Spencer.”

Warden has documented Tucson Police Department intimidations in a series of

federal court actions, including one where a federal judge singled out unlawful/
intimidating statements made by Tucson Assistant Police Chief Kathleen
Robinson and Tucson City Court Judge Eugene Hays, and by eliciting trial
testimony from a number of TPD officers who have testified against Warden in a
series of criminal actions before the Tucson Municipal Court.

Warden’s conviction in one these actions is now up for review before the Arizona
Supreme Court.

“And their intentional Policy of Intimidation just doesn’t stop,” said Warden.

“Several months ago my family had a medical emergency. When TPD officers
arrived they turned the whole episode upside down and inside out.

“These officers were angry regarding articles I’ve written critical of Tucson City
and TPD Open Border Policy. Subsequently they filed domestic violence charges
against me which were completely unwarranted.”

Warden says he plans future federal court actions against TPD for Civil Rights
violations.
