Montage
Description:
An insperational montage made by the blending of two or
more images, and the use of typography.
Date:
5/30/15
Course/Instructor:
Comm 130 Section 01
Cory Kerr
Program(s)/Tools:
Adobe Photoshop
Objectives:
Learn to manage Photoshop layers.
Learn to blend images together smoothly, using masks.
Use filters.
Apply appropriate typography.
Process:
I started with an 8.5x11 image of two roads divering in
the woods, and I followed copywright laws with the image.
I opened the image on photoshop to brighten the image
and sharpen certain areas. I procceeded to find a headshot
image of Robert Frost. Once I found an image I liked, I used
the lasso tool in Illustrator to put his face in the image
of the woods. Then in photoshop, I used the blur tool to
smooth out the edges. After both images were ready, I put
them together. Next to Robert Frosts picture I placed one
of his most famouse quotes.

logo
Description:
Three logo variations for the same company.

Program(s)/Tools:
Adobe Illustrator
Objectives:
Create a variety of logos to fit a company or personal
image.
Use the basic tools of Illustrator.
Process:
Creating a logo that is simple and memorable was
actually a lot harder than I thought it was going to
be. I started with creating the petals, I used the eclips
tool and the ancor tool to create the shape. Then I
proceeded to use the rounded rectangle tool to create
the pot. I knew that I wanted to use the color orange
for the pot, but deciding what color to make the petals
took a lot of thinking. I tried many different colors,
but purpke was the one I thought looked the best.
When it came time to name the company, I looked up
gardening terms online, and I came accross the word
bloom. I really liked the way that word sounded, and
that is where the name came from.

Program(s)/Tools:

Objectives:
Create a new logo to fit a company or personal image.
Design consistent layouts for a business card and
letterhead.
Use the basic tools of InDesign.
Process:
This first thing I did after sketching my logo is, design
it on InDesign. Designing the arrow was fairly simple,
I use the rectangre tool to create a shape, and then I
used the white arrow tool to pull one corner to one
side. I wated there to be more color in the letterhead,
so I decided I would add some polk-a-dots at the
bottom to repeat the colors used in the logo.

Objectives:
Create a new logo to fit a company or personal image.
Design consistent layouts for a business card and
letterhead.
Use the basic tools of Illustrator & InDesign.
Process:
On Illustrator I created 2 pages the size of normal
business cards. and I started designing. The business
card was ver similar to the letterhead. I finished this
project fairly quickly, becuase al I really needed to do
is cope, paste, and resize. I did add some little images
in the contact information. What I did for those is find
images that I could use, place them where I wanted
and size them appropriately.

Description:

Program(s)/Tools:
Adobe InDesign
Adobe Photoshop
Objectives:
Size and optimize an original logo as a .png for a web
page.
Write content to describe the process of creating your
logo and how it appeals to a target audience.
Design a web page using HTML to display a logo and
content.
Acquire a working knowledge of HTML and basic
understanding of CSS.
Identify hex colors for web design.
Compress multiple files in a zipped folder to attach as
one file.
Process:
I designed most of the brochure on InDesign. The
blurred background of the front cover was made
on photoshop. To make that background I placed 5
images of the ingredients that are on the inside of
the brochure, and I blurred them all, that way the
only thing that would be visible is the colors. This
background allowed me to repeat the colors that are
on the inside without making it too distracting. The
inside was made on InDesign. I created 5 colums and
adjusted each picture to fit the columns. I created the
hamburger logo on InDesign as well. I used the ellipse
too and the white arrow tool to create the entire logo.
