Montage
Title: Montage
Description: This is a montage I created for class. It is 2
separate pictures, and some text from the Bible.
Programs: Photoshop
Date: May 30, 2015
Course: Comm 130
Instructor: Brother Reader
Objectives: Learn to blend two images together using
masks.
Process: I blended the two images into one, with the
background being the homeless man. I was able to
blend the picture of Christ in, and I added a filter to
the background of the homeless man picture. I also
added a text box with some relevant text, and 2
different fonts.

Description: This is a logo that I created for my
employer, Doug Andrus Distributing. It is a picture of
a truck driving across the US, symbolic of the company
being able to ship across the country.

Process:I traced the map of the US, and I drew the
road A with the pen tool, and also drew the truck
with the pen tool.

Title: Web Page
Description: This is a web page that I designed which
talks about the design process of my logo
Programs: Text Wrangler, Photoshop, and html files

Instructor: Brother Reader
Objectives: Design a web page using Text Wrangler,
and follow the directions given in the assignment.
Process: I downloaded the necessary html and css
documents, and placed them in textwrangler, along
with my logo I had created previously. I then edited the
colors, text, words, design, and other things to make
the page fit my color scheme, and look how I wanted it
to look. I used photoshop to find the codes for the
colors I wished to use, and came up with the page
shown here.

Business Cards

Description: These are some business cards that I
created for my father in laws physical therapy practice.
Programs: Illustrator, InDesign

Objectives: Create a logo and business card for a local
company in Illustrator and InDesign
Process: I created a logo for my father in laws
company in Illustrator, and then created the business
card and letterhead in Indesign. I used mainly the pen
tool to draw the weights, and used the shapes tool to
create the bandaid.

Description: This is a letter head that I created using
the logo that I had previously created for my father in
laws business.

Objectives: Create a letterhead in InDesign using the
logo that you had previously created in Illustrator.
Process: I created a logo for my father in laws company in Illustrator, and then created the business card
and letterhead in Indesign. I used mainly the pen tool
to draw the weights, and used the shapes tool to create
the bandaid.

Description: This is a brochure which I created for a
hypothetical golf tournament to raise money
for charity

Objectives: Create a brouchure in InDesing
Process: I found images on the internet, and uploaded
them into Indesign. I created a logo in Indesign. I
cropped a picture from facebook in photoshop, and
then from there brought it into Indesign, and put some
text wrap around the picture. I created a color scheme,
and typed up relevant information, and created the
borchure to promote this event.

Photodesign

Description: This is an ad I created for a Home and
Garden Show that isnt real. It is designed to promote
and advertise for the show.
Programs: Photoshop

Objectives: Take a picture, and scan it into Photoshop.
Edit the picture, and create an ad using the picture.
Process: I took a picture of my parents backyard, and
used Photoshop to edit the image. Then, I tried to
make an add for an event that would go along with the
image. I found a color scheme that I liked, and that
went along with my photo, and I tried to use white
space and the color scheme to create a clean and
appealing ad.

Flier

Description: This is a flier that I created in InDesign
for a Graduate Leadership Conference.
Programs: InDesign

Objectives: Create a flier using the text and pictures
provided.
Process: I used Indesign to create this flier. My limited
skills were mainly just playing around with Indesign,
and trying to incorporate the principles that we have
discussed during class to help create this design. I tried
to use white space, and align everything that I could. I
met some difficulties within Indesign due to my
limited history with the program, but I feel like I was
able to overcome those challenges, and make
something that met the demands of this assignment.

Event Ad
Title: Event Ad
Description: This is an ad that I made for a football
camp that teaches safety. Unfortunately the Safety
word is part of the picture itself, and I was unable to
move it after I scanned it.
Programs: Word
Date: 5/16/2015
Course: Comm 130
Instructor: Brother Reader
Objectives: Scan an image, and make an ad in Word
with the scanned image.
Process: I found a football magazine at my house, and
found this picture, which I scanned in the comm 130
lab. I used Microsoft word to add the text, and tried
to use a color scheme and typography that I thought
would be appealing to kids. I tried to align what I
could, and make it visually appealing while also trying
to make it interesting.
