Chapter
Train Operation Plan and Service
System
2.1 Overview of Train Operation
Train operation of the Pink Line is designed to
efficiently serve the travel demand based on
alignment, station location, monorail system and
travel demand analysis and forecast. The operation
plan analysis considers various important operation
factors such as train capacity, speed, frequency and
headway that can ensure operation efficiency and
service standard. The train operation can be
described in this chapter.

2.2 Data and Parameters

In comparison to the train operation plan in the
previous feasibility study, key operation data and
parameters were revised in accordance with latest
revisions including the following changes.
Number of station increases to 30 stations.
Travel demand forecast is updated.

Track Layout
Due to high demand in the section PK7-PK25,
in addition to main line operation from PK1-PK30,
another train operation for section between PK7-PK25
shall be planned. For this purpose, track layout
should be arranged as shown in Figure 2.2-1 for the
purpose of turn-back at PK7 and PK25.Main depot
shall be provided at the east end of the line (at
PK30).In addition, twocrossovers shall be set at PK15
and PK20 for the maintenance, emergency and
degraded operation.
