feet to compensate for any irregularities in the floor surface.

Novarak is compatible with HPI and Capital Dexion. The New

Victor Bolt Together frames are compatible with our original
welded style. Frames are rated to take 8 tonne with nearly a
two to one safety factor.

Narrow aisle racking retains the flexibility of wide aisle racking but
increases storage capacity by reducing the aisle and storing pallets to a
greater height. It also maintains a good speed of throughput.

It is also seen as a safety measure against accidental damage
to packs where small heavy items could fall down inside the

Novalok Novarak - Double deep pallet racking
Double Deep Pallet Racking

DOUBLE DEEP RACKING is created by placing two double sided runs together. Pallets
are stored two deep and are accessed using special Reach Trucks with pantograph
or telescopic forks.

Double deep is a brilliant option if you are running out of space, or if you are setting
up a new installation and there is a need to maximise storage capacity.
Double deep uses standard selective type racking, configured in double rows of two,
back to back. If you are re-configuring an existing installation, all the existing racking
can be re-used. If you relocate at a later date the racking can be re-set up again,
either as standard selective or in a double deep configuration.
The only additional cost is the need for a special forklift to access the second row, or
back row of racking. Your traditional forklift is still suitable for the front pallets, a Reach
Truck will be required for accessing the back row. These units are not expensive and
can be a low price to pay for the increased storage capacity with the double deep
system.

Drive-in Racking
The most cost effective solution to store large quantities

INDUSTRIAL
DRIVE IN racking is ideally suited to bulk storage of like product, and is very good
value on a cost per pallet space basis.
DRIVE IN racking is very popular with bulk producers like dairy factories where one
production batch will fill one or multiple aisles with the same product.
A DRIVE IN system will double the amount of product stored in a given area as
compared to selective racking.
The down side is selectivity drops to about 30%. This is not an issue when storing big
quantities of like product. Often used in freezers for storing pallets of frozen meat or
butter where you can fill one, or multiple aisles up with one product type or batch.

DRIVE IN racking works with fork lifts driving to the end of any empty aisle to deposit
the first pallet. Pallets are stored 2 to 12 deep and sit on centering rails on extended
ledges along both sides of the aisle. Components of the DRIVE IN racking system are
shown above.
This system requires a fairly narrow forklift. Generally any modern forklift up to 1.8
tonne will fit easily. A standard pallet width is 1200mm. If larger pallet widths are used
then a larger forklift can be used. What you find is that specific industries often have
a pallet size that is standard to the industry, such as the fertilizer industry seems to use
1400 wide pallets, the printing industry uses smaller pallets. You will need a forklift
under 1100 wide to load 1200 wide pallets. Fork lifts dont come much narrower than
1100mm so if you want a drive-in system for smaller than standard pallets you will
need to sit your small pallet on a standard pallet to make it work.

Novalok - PUSH-BACK STORAGE SYSTEM
Push-Back Racking Systems

FOR LARGE VOLUMES OF THE SAME PRODUCT TYPE
INDUSTRIAL
PUSH-BACK racking systems are used for specific product storage, in batch
manufacturing or processing. The Push-back system is suited to storing
large volumes of bulk product when stock rotation is not such an issue. It
is First In Last Out FILO.
Each level consists of a number of gravity conveyor lanes. The product is
loaded from the front, then, as the next pallet is loaded it is used to push
back the first pallet to make room and so on until the lane is full. It is not
recommended to go more than 6 deep in a push back system.
Unloading is also from the front, when the first pallet is removed the
remaining pallets roll forward ready for removal.
The gravity conveyor is fitted with braked rollers to regulate the speed the
pallets advance when the front pallet is removed.

Another feature of push-back is that an existing

fork lift truck can be used to place each pallet at the
front of the racking, eliminating the need to have
a narrow forklift to fit inside the lanes of a Drive-in
system. Pallets can be stored up to six deep.
PUSH-BACK works on a gravity feed basis and pallets will always be available at the front of the racking as they naturally roll
to the front. This system provides for very dense storage of SKUs. A Push-back system can be installed with the back against
a wall. Fork lifts of any shape or size can be used with PUSH-BACK to place each pallet at the front of the racking.

Flow-Through Racking
INDUSTRIAL
Often called Live Storage racking or Gravity Flow Racking. Live

Storage or Flow Through racking features lanes of conveyor
rollers on a slight angle, which allows the pallets to roll forward
by gravity at a controlled speed.
FLOW THROUGH or LIVE STORAGE racking is essentially the same
as Push Back except that it is loaded from the back and unloaded
from the front.
Gravity Flow is not limited to 6 deep as with the Push Back system.

Floors are of high strength Triboard or Steelwalk plank decking. Often mesh flooring

INDUSTRIAL
Modula Lift, the next generation of Vertical Lift Module, is the

ideal solution for any warehouse: a fully automated vertical storage system for better storage and retrieval of any product and
good in any different work environment, increasing the oor
space available within a facility by utilizing the ceiling height
available.
Modula Lift is a breakthrough evolution of the previous model
and, thanks to the high storage capacity (60,000 kg free load capacity and over 8402m. into 142m. of footprint only), is designed
to store and retrieve any part, component,
good and nished product.
Modula Lift has got a modern and advanced look, while having
a frame structure of bearing metal proles and steel modular
exterior claddings, all produced in a fully automated production
line.
The Modula Lift stores metal trays that are retrieved to the
operator to the picking bays by an automated lift. The Modula
Lift is completely managed by an innovative and user friendly
hardware and software integrated system that performs quick
and efficient operations.

The ever increasing consideration for the environment and energy saving has driven the design of the new Modula Lift
to ensure a signicant energy saving and guarantee a lower environmental impact at the same time.
The ModulaGreen optional device provides even further savings by recovering the energy produced as the lift is lowering the tray to the picking bay, energy that would be otherwise dissipated and lost.
This option gives a return of the investment in just few months time.
INDUSTRIAL
Compared with the previous Modula model, the lower energy consumption is given by smaller size motors with higher
efficiency rate. The 3 kW vertical axis motor, also used for the 750 kg model, provides a significant energy saving.

The new Modula Lift vertical storage system excels itself: over 8402m. of products stored in an actual occupied space of
about 14m2.

Modula Lift goes up to 14 meters height, optimises the storage volumes and gives a very high throughput.
The Modula Lift can storage the trays with 25 mm pitch distance and is designed for a vertical modularity of 200 mm
step, the product height optimisation in the Modula Lift occurs through photo cells maximizing the total number of trays
inside the unit. Sidewall trays extension, adjustable partitions and dividers are available to slot the inner surface of the trays
and ensure the highest operating exibility.

The internal or external dual tray delivery system provides an outstanding throughput and eliminates waiting times with

Modula Lift has a colour touch screen console, designed for the industrial environment, that enables the operator to control
the VLM. The graphic interface is completely new, developed with user friendly icons, very intuitive for the operators that
do not need any special training for the daily use.
To ensure the safety of the products stored in the warehouse, the operators have access to the VLM through passwords
that differentiate the accesses to the VLM, depending on the tasks and on the roles.
A wizard menu support the operator in managing the VLM reducing inefciency and wasting time. The console incorporates
the automatic functions for managing scheduled maintenance interventions.
The system is designed to check, in real time, quantities stored, for a complete product traceability. Any storage or retrieval
operation is recorded in a log le that can be downloaded any time.
