Who is the BEST climber in OBRA?

This is the Oregon Bicycle Association Racing events hillclimb championship race from Government Camp
to Timberline Lodge on a closed ski resort access road through lovely forest to a spanning vista.
This OBRA time trial event and requires a one---day or season license as well as use of a helmet at all times
riders are on a bike. This race is open to all ages and abilities, but to be eligible for a championship medal,
the rider must possess a 2015 OBRA season racing license in good standing. Additional details and

Registration: The first racer starts at 10:00am so riders are strongly encouraged to pre---register a nd get a starting
time in their group. Day---Of---Registration will be available at the finish line from 8:30 9:30. Day---of riders will start
on a first---come---first---served basis so if y ou want to start with your category, please pre---register. Gaps in posted start
times are for safety and official requirements. Online registration is $23 at OBRA Online Registration
(http://obra.org/events/23538/register) and includes service charges. Day---of---Registration is $25.
In order to begin on time at 10:00am, registration will close p romptly at 9:30am. Please be early to d ay---of---signup
with completed paperwork and begin racing on time. Pre---registered riders do not need to c heck in.

Course: The start house just east of the Government Camp rest area on U S Hwy 26 before the main Timberline Lodge
Road at 4,000. At approximately 5.1 miles the route merges with Timberline Lodge Road where riders take a left and
finish in the parking area next to the WyEast Lodge at nearly 5,900 just below Timberlines main lodge. The
pavement is generally good but this is a single lane ski resort access road so be a ware of o ccasional potholes and
gravel. This results in an average road grade of a bout 18% so select gears and lungs accordingly. For a map please

Categories: The starting order is Tandem, Juniors, W omen Masters, then Categories, Men Masters then Categories,
and d ay---of---registration. . :
Divisions are scored and medals awarded for g roups w ith a starting field of 5 or more:
Masters 30 ---34, 3 5---39, 4 0---44,45---49,50---54, 5 5---59, 6 0+, Cat 1/2, Cat 3 , Cat 4, Cat5. Juniors 10---12, 1 3---14, 1 5---16, 1 7---18
Directions: Government Camp, Oregon a pproximately 60 miles East of Portland on U S Hwy 26. R iders may park
either near the start at Government Camp rest area, or near the finish at Timberline Lodges main parking lot.

race. The costs related to those injuries are the responsibility of the individual participants. Permits are for racing up
the mountain only. Your return trip MUST follow the rules of the road (e.g., do not impede vehicular traffic, do not ride
unsafely or a ggressively).
