Hivex Expeller Technology

Just what does an Expeller do? It separates a nonnoncompressible liquid (egg.

(egg Water or oil) from a
compressible solid (Vegetable oil, rubber, thermoplastic)
In order to achieve this separation it is necessary to
energize the environment of the process.
An Expeller or Hivex
Hivex expander cannot pump a non
non-compressible liquid. It can and does pump a compressible
solid.
The nonnon-compressible liquid stalls in an Expeller or
Hivex expander and can be easily drained from the
system using
i a drainage

barrel.

Controlling the separation requires control of energy in this

Enthalpy is a precisely measurable state of definable variables.

temperature of the process fluid going through the Expeller or
expander.
p
The overall goal is to convert as much KW from the motor to
energy in the process fluid. By and large the friction between
th compressible

lid andd the
th breaker
b k screws, shaft

k if
bars allows this conversion.
The largest single energy loss from an Expeller or expander is
the energy which leaves the system when the nonnon-compressible
liquid is drained through the drainage cage.

Hivex Expeller Technology

P = Pressure
Pressure changes take place in the process fluid as a result
of fluid shear and pressure changes, which are a
consequence of fluid flow down the Expeller or expander
from feed to discharge.
discharge
Changes in process fluid, particularly the vaporization of
water can have a very strong influence on both the
temperature and pressure of the system.

the removal of nonnon-compressible liquid (through the
drainage barrel) and the vaporization of liquid components
(water, etc.) also through the drainage barrel.
The cosntant reduction of the volume of the compressible
solid as it is compresses and the removal of the nonnoncompressible liquid presents a completely different energy
environment at the discharge of the Expeller or expander,
than at the feed.
