Yarn:

1/3 3 ounce skein Jiffy Quick & Easy Mohair Look Yarn Light Yellow
2 3.5 ounce skeins Bernat Softee Chunky Yarn Pale Antique Rose
½ 3.5 ounce skein Bernat Softee Chunky Yarn Med Sea Green

Hook: 8.00 mm / L US or 2 sizes larger


than yarn requirement

Finished size: 32 inches

Abbreviations: Ch, chain; sc, single


crochet; dc, double crochet; st, stitch; sts,
stitches; beg, beginning or begin; rep,
repeat; tog, together; sp, space; rnd(s)
round(s); yo, yarn over.

Special Abbreviations/Instructions:

Joining with dc - attach new color to hook, yo and insert hook into space or stitch indicated, yo
and pull through space or stitch indicated (three loops on hook), yo, pull through first 2 loops on
hook, yo pull through last 2 loops.

Joining with sc -attach new color to hook, insert hook into space or stitch indicated, yo and pull
through space or stitch indicated (two loops on hook), yo, pull through 2 loops on hook.

Directions:

With color A, ch 4, join with sl st to form ring.

RND 1: Ch 3, work 11 dc in ring, join with sl st in top of beg ch-3 = 12 dc.

RND 2: Ch 3, dc in same sp, 2 dc in each st around, join in top of beg ch-3 = 24 dc.

RND 3: Ch 3, *skip next 2 dc, (dc, ch 3, dc) in next st; rep from * around ending with dc in same st
as beg ch-3, ch 2 sl st in top of beg ch-3 = 8 small shells.

RND 4: Ch 1 * (sc hdc 3 dc hdc sc) all in next ch 3 space rep from * around join with sl st in

RND 4: Ch 1, (sc, hdc, 3 dc, hdc, sc) all in next ch 3 space, rep from around, join with sl st in
first sc = 8 small shells (7 sts per shell).

RND 5: Ch 1, *sc, hdc, (5 dc all in next dc), hdc, sc, skip next two sc, rep from * around, join with sl
st in first sc = 8 small shells (9 sts per shell). Tie off color A.

RND 6: With color B, working in back loops only join with *sc, hdc, dc (5 dc all in next dc), dc,
hdc, sc, skip next two sc, rep from * around, join with sl st in first sc = 81 sts/ 8 small shells (11 sts
per shell).

RNDS 7-18: Continue in color B, with shells increasing by 2 sts each row, always having 5 centered
dc's and beginning and ending with the sc, hdc. The shells will have:

RND 7: 13 sts per shell

RND 8: 15 sts per shell

RND 9: 17 sts per shell

RND 10: 19 sts per shell

RND 11: 21 sts per shell

RND 12: 23 sts per shell

RND 13: 25 sts per shell

RND 14: 27 sts per shell

RND 15: 29 sts per shell

RND 16: 31 sts per shell

RND 17: 33 sts per shell

RND 18: 35 sts per shell - Tie off color B.

LEAF: Make three positioned 2 with 2 peaks between them and one with 3 peaks between
it and the other two.

Row 1: Right side facing you: With color C join with sl st in hdc on the right side on a valley. 4
DC in in first valley stitch, 3 DC in second valley stitch. Sl st in hdc on left side of the valley.

Row 2: TURN , ch-3, sl st in 2nd dc on right side of valley, dc in next 3 dc, 3 dc in next dc, dc in
next 3 dc, sl st in 2nd dc up.

Row 3: TURN , ch-3, sl st in 2nd dc on right side of valley, dc in next 4 dc, 5 dc in next dc, dc in
next 4 dc, sl st in 2nd dc up.

Row 4: TURN , ch-3, sl st in 2nd dc on right side of valley, dc in next 6 dc, 5 dc in next dc, dc in
next 6 dc, sl st in 2nd dc up.

Row 5: TURN , ch-3, sl st in 2nd dc on right side of valley, dc in next 8 dc, 5 dc in next dc, dc in
next 8 dc, sl st in 2nd dc up.

Row 6: TURN , ch-3, sl st in 2nd dc on right side of valley, dc in next 10 dc, 5 dc in next dc, dc in
next 10 dc, sl st in 2nd dc up.
