13 Div 2
Our only 13's team started their season in Div 1 & impressed early with the way they
fought hard right to the final whistle in each game that they played. We had 10 players in
our team but unfortunately lost Breah Marston after the first game with a broken leg after
a riding accident. We hope your rehab is going well Breah & look forward to 2016 for you.
We managed a draw against Nairne Districts before, along with Nairne, we were regraded
to Div 2 & had a bye straight up. We have since then, recorded another draw, against
Littlehampton & our first win against Mt Barker United. Most weeks we have only had 7-8
players available which makes substitutions easy but players also have to play out of
position sometimes to ensure the best from the team.
Those players have approached that change with determination & a positive attitude
which is great. The team consists of Alannah Taylor & Riley Schaefer (co-captains), Eden
Berger, Eva Falzon, Jenny Gray, Tahni Leach, Breah Marston, Hannah Murrell, Georgie
Reuther & Imogen Wasley. There are sometimes concentration losses at training but for
the most the girls are listening & learning which shows in their overall improvement this
season. Thanks to Georgia Taylor who has worn her dress a few times as my reserve.
This week Georgia along with Sophie Vears & Javre Brooks are playing for us, thanks girls.
Keep up the hard work & determination girls, the improvement will also continue. Thanks
to Ash Broadbent who is giving up her time on a Wednesday night to assist with Coaching
the girls. 45 girls, 45!!!!!!

15 Div 1
The 15 Div 1's currently sit 2nd on the ladder in a competition that brings it's challenges each week. The team combines
well together with improvement shown in most areas as the season goes on.
We have had 7 wins, most of them quite convincing which means the concentration & ability to focus on a high standard each
game is important. 6 of our players also regularly play 17's which means a heavy workload each week. The loss was not our best
game but that is what pressure does to you & we will be more prepared next time we meet them. We lost Georgia Buchecker
with an ankle injury leaving us with 7 players. Thanks to Cathy & the 15 Div 2's that have been regularly called to fill in for us.
We look forward to Georgia's return after the bye round. The team consists of Chloe Schaefer & Kashmir Alland
(co-captains), Georgia Buchecker, Katie Roberts, Briella Duffield, Jade Rudiger, Leilani Shepherdson & Emma Van
De Veerdonk. Thankyou also to our umpires, Di Gray & Tiff Vears. Keep up the good work girls.......focus &
concentration!!!

17s Div 2
The 17s started the season well, but have dropped off a little in the middle of the season.
Sitting 4th on the ladder, the challenge now, is to push the teams above. At full strength we
are a team of 10 with the inclusion of Katie Roberts and Emma Van de Veerdonk from the
15s who have joined us to cover injury, illness and absence which has been a bit of a
juggling act.
The girls have fitted in and stepped up to next level with great determination and skill.
Claire Carn and Hannah Graetz in defence are working well together and doing a great job
of pressuring the opposition goalies, swooping on any rebounds and sending the ball back
into attack. Midcourters Rosie Hayhurst, Brooke Josephs, Renee Ward and Emma are
providing drive down the court, with sharp movement, determined defence and
considered passing.
This can only continue to improve as the girls work into the rest of the season.
Annie Ruether is our main goalie after 15s player Georgia Buchecker suffered a serious
ankle injury. Georgia is able to participate again and will ease back into the team. Annie
has settled in her role and there is improvement every week as she has continued to find
her shooting rhythm. Briella Duffield, another 15s player, is the final team member,
providing a strong option in all thirds. Recently sharing the shooting role with Katie, both
have stepped up to the challenge of an unfamiliar position. The 2nd half of the season will
be about continued improvement, refining of skills, hard work and enjoying the game.

17s Div 1
The 17 Div 1 team consists of Captain Millie Vears, Vice-Captain Bec Rice, Jess Billings, Lauryn Bradley,
Sienna Buchecker, Isabelle Sheehan and aspiring dual team players Kashmir Alland and Chloe Schaefer
who are also part of the 15 Div 1s.
These girls are a lovely team to coach with a strong inbuilt desire to commit to each other by
attending all trainings is a credit to them and their parents, whove obviously taught them the value
of commitment to a sport, a club, a team and their peers, well done and may I say Keep up the good
work! Also may I say thank you to all the wonderful parents who are willing to make sure they get to
all their trainings and games, lets face it, we wouldnt be able to do it without you!! Id also like to
share with you, comments from a senior umpire regarding our team, how lovely they are to umpire,
how quickly they adjust and how well they listen so Well Done Girls!!
Currently the girls are sitting 4th on the ladder, behind Lobethal, Lobethal Lutheran and
Onkas, a hard fought draw against Lobethal Lutheran and a small loss to Onkas has proven to the
girls that they are not far off the leaders of the pack. As we have been struck with injury, sickness and
some unavoidable absences we have had to enlist quite a few fill-ins and Id like to say thank you to
Tillie Macdonald, Chelsea Brown, who have quickly said yes to filling in and sitting on the bench for us,
also to Anais Falzon and Riley Schaefer whove sat on the bench for us in case of injury.
Annette Bradley is one of the most organised people on the planet and we have the pleasure of
having her as our team manager, on behalf of all the players, parents and of course myself Thank
You Annette! Of course thank you to all our wonderful supporters who are always there cheering the
girls on, we are blessed to have you! With 5 rounds to go we have a strong chance in the Major round
of the season so good luck and work hard, as we strive to continue to improve and be there in the
final game!
Hoorah!!
Lesley Vears
B Grade
Currently sitting top of the ladder on percentage, the team has had only one loss to date and
only by a goal. Fielding a great balance of experience and youth, the team are combining well
on court and providing many positional options.
Vic Mc Beath and Emily Pitchford are doing a great job in the defensive circle, applying great
pressure and coming up with lots of defensive touches, allowing the team the opportunity to
score. The Midcourt of Carmen Harkness, Kelly Chadbourne and Lucy Northcott are providing
great transition into attack, with strong leads and passing as well as solid defence when the
opposition has the ball.
Lisa Crabb and Milly Cummings in the goal circle are a great focal point and are finishing off
with accurate shooting. Millie Vears rounds out the team as the versatility player, having the
ability to play with impact in all thirds. The team has settled well and the oncourt flow hasnt
taken long to develop, which allows the ball to move nicely to the goalies. We will be looking
to finish off the 2nd half of the season strongly, consolidate our team work and maintain our
position on the ladder.
