USE CASE DIAGRAM and DOCUMENTATION for LiMS:

Library management system is being made for ease of the people who visits library
for book reading or consulting their respected books without getting in for the old
conservative process and try to gain maximum use of computing/software
engineering world.
This project is aimed at developing an online Library Management System (LiMS)
for the college library. This is an Intranet based application that can be accessed
throughout the campus. This system can be used to search for books/magazines,
reserve books, find out who is having a particular book, put in requests to buy a
new book etc. This is one integrated system that contains both the user component
and the librarian component. There are features like email notifications/reminders,
report generators etc in this system.

USE CASES:

ACTORS:
1. LIBRARIAN:
The one who manages the library and its database and rapidly keeps on
updating the students or people records for issuing books and etc.
2. LIBRARIAN DATABASE:
Its kind of an assistant librarian.
3. GENERAL USER:

The people who want to use the services of Library but they havent register
yet.
(or a guest who dont have the membership of the library comes to it and
wants to have membership.)
4. REGISTERD USER:
The members of Library who have already regitered.
SEPARATE FLOW OF EVENTS FOR EACH ACTOR:
1. LIBRARIAN:
Add book: include new books/journals
Remove book: remove some books from the inventory
Add new users: add new users to the system
See purchase request: see the purchase requests for new books
Approve/reject : be able to approve/reject the same

2. LIBRARIAN DATABASE:
Assist LIBRARIAN.
Update books status.
3. USER:
Register: register to membership (with general user).
Login: login to the system through the first page of the application

 Change password: change the password after logging into the system

Check book status: see the status of the books/journals

borrowed/reserved by him and the respective due dates and other
relevant details

Search book: search for a particular book/journal based on the name

of the book/name of the author/subject/etc and also list for
books/journals based on the name of the author/subject etc

Reserve book: reserve a particular book/journal borrowed by others

Cancel reserve: cancel the reservation made earlier for a particular

book/journal

Check book status: see who has borrowed a particular book/journal

and when is the due date for the same

Request for purchasing: place requests for purchasing new books to

the library, by giving details about the name of the book, name of the
author, publisher etc.

Get help: get help about the LiMS on how to use the different features
of the system
