Select Graduates from the Honours/ Joint Honours McMaster Art History Program

Class of 2009

Ashley Gallant (Class of 2009, Honours Art History) has just been accepted to the Sotheby's
Institute of Art in London, England. Ashley also received a scholarship and will enter the MA
East Asian Art program in Fall 2010. Ashley is currently working as a curator at the Barbara
Edwards Gallery in Toronto.

Class of 2008

Alessandra Cardarelli (Class of 2008, Joint Honours Art History and Cultural Studies) is entering
the second year of an MA in Art History at Queen’s University.

Julie Nash (Class of 2008, Joint Honours Art History and Classics) is currently pursuing an MA
in Art History at Carleton University.

Stephanie Pitts (Class of 2008, Honours Art History and Classics) pursued an MA in Humanities
(Art History) at the University of Chicago.

Class of 2007

Lisa Gorman (Class of 2007, Joint Honours Art History and Communication Studies) worked in
Toronto as an Animateur at the Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery. She is currently
pursuing a Masters of Public Administration at Carleton University.

Andrea Lehocki (Class of 2007, Joint Honours Art and Art History) completed an MSc in History,
Theory and Display in the School of Art, Culture and Environment at the University of Edinburgh
in 2008. Andrea then worked in Visitor Services at Chatsworth Hall in the East Midlands. She is
now an Art Consultant for DeMontfort Fine Arts and works at the Whitewall Gallery in Derby,
England.

Rebecca Manias (Class of 2007, Honours Art with a Minor in Art History) is starting an MSc in
History, Theory and Display in the School of Art, Culture and Environment at the University of
Edinburgh.

Class of 2006

Kristine Chou (Class of 2006, Honours Art History) completed an MA in Art History at the
University of Toronto.

Paul Byron (Class of 2006, Honours Art and Art History) is pursuing an MA in Art History at the
University of Toronto.

Eva Feldmann (Class of 2006, Joint Honours Art History and French) completed an MA in Art
History at York University in 2008. Eva received a grant from the SSHRC for 2007-8.

Trevor Stark (Class of 2006, Joint Honours Art History and Arts and Science) completed an MA
in Art History at McGill University in 2008. He is starting is doctorate at Harvard University.

Eva Verity (Class of 2006, Joint Honours Art History and Communication Studies) completed an
MA in Art History at York University. Eva received a grant from the SSHRC for 2008-9.

Class of 2005

Sheina Barnes (Class of 2005, Joint Honours Art and Art History) completed an MA in
Conservation at Queen’s University where she specialized in the conservation of paper. Sheina
received a grant from the SSHRC for 2006-7.

Conor Jones (Class of 2005, Art History and History) pursued an MA in Art History at Christie’s
in London, England.

Avril McMeekin (Class of 2005, Honours Art History) completed an MA in Art History at York
University. Avril received a CGS grant for 2006-7.

Krystina Mierins (Class of 2005, Joint Honours Art History and Peace Studies) completed an
MA in Art History at Carleton University in 2008. She is now a Curatorial Assistant at the Heinz
Architectural Center in Pittsburgh.

Jasmina Mrkalj (Class of 2005, Joint Honours Art History and History) studied Law at the
University of Windsor, where she graduated in 2008. She is articling at the Hamilton-based firm
Sullivan Festeryga LLP.

David Richards (Class of 2005, Art History) received an Associates of Applied Sciences degree
for Fashion Marketing from Parsons School of Design. He lives in New York City where he
works at PaceWildenstein and is starting a career as a documentary photographer.

Michele Simiana (Class of 2005, Honours Art History) teaches Art at Minster College in the U.K.

Class of 2004

Leslie McBeth (Class of 2004, Honours Art History) is living in New York City where she works
for the non-profit organization Design Trust for public space as a Program and Development
Associate.

Dane Pederson (Class of 2004, Honours Art History) is Founder and Director of Loose Canon
Gallery, Hamilton.

Marieke Treilhard (Class of 2004, Joint Honours Art History and Comparative Literature)
completed an MA in Art History at York University.

Class of 2003

Debora Antoncic (Class of 2003, Honours Art History) completed an MA in Art History at York
University in 2005; she is currently completing a Ph.D. in Art History at Queen’s University.

Marcie Bronson (Class of 2003, Honours Art History) completed an MA in Art History at York
University in 2005 and is the Assistant Curator at Rodman Hall Arts Center, Brock University.

Anne-Marie Minardi (Class of 2003, Honours Art History) completed an MA in Art History at
Queen’s University in 2005.

Kristin Patterson (Class of 2003, Joint Honours Art History and Comparative Literature)
completed her MA at the Courtauld Institute in 2004 and her Ph.D. in 2008. Kristin received a
pre-doctoral fellowship from the SSHRC for 2005-8.

Amanda Rayburn (Class of 2003, Honours Art History) pursued an MA in Landscape


Architecture at Guelph University.

Andrea Terry (Class of 2003, Honours Art History) completed an MA in Art History at Queen’s
University in 2005 where she is currently completing a Ph.D.

Margaret Williams (Class of 2003, Honours Art History) pursued primary school teaching in
Ancaster.

Ola Wlusek (Class of 2003, BA in Art History) was Curator at the Latcham Gallery in Stouffville,
Ontario, 2006-7 and completed an MA in Contemporary Art Theory at Goldsmith’s College,
University of London. She is now completing a program at the Banff International Curatorial
Institute.

Note: D. Marc Kirouac (Class of 2003, Honours Art History) completed two years of work
towards his MA in Art History at Queen’s University before his death in August 2005. Donations

Natalie Wigg (Class of 2001, Honours Art History) completed her M.Div. at Yale University in
