Position of the course


The aim is to make the students familiar with chemical and physical treatments
(finishing treatments), which have as a result that the textile material obtains a number
of specific properties leading to a higher added value.

Part 1: General introduction

Basic knowledge of textile materials (fibres, yarns and fabrics); advanced knowledge of
organic chemistry.

1properties to textile materials such as repellency, antistatic characteristics, anti1flammability, crease resistance, ..., coating of textile materials.
