Streamlight USB products, but also serves as a
power source for recharging your tablet or
smartphone.

In 2015, Streamlight jumped on the USB band

wagon with a number of USB rechargeable
illumination products. A decision, which makes
all the sense in the world given that virtually all
late model vehicles are equipped with USB
ports. Rechargeable lithium batteries are also
improving at an accelerated pace, So USB
rechargeable illumination tools make sense.
However, what happens when youre away
from your vehicle or an a.c. powered charging
station? Fortunately, product developers at
Streamlight did two things, all of their USB lights
will also run on conventional batteries; second,
they developed the EPU-5200.

The EPU-5200 will charge from any USB port

including an optional a.c. adapter. Fully
charged, it provides 5,200 mAh of power usable
to recharge a variety of devices with micro-USB
input.

The EPU prefix has no assigned meaning from

the company so Ill take the liberty to call it
Extended Power Unit. In principle, the EPU5200 is a portable and rechargeable power pack
that can be used to recharge any of the

Fully depleted, the EPU-5200 requires 8 hours

of charge time. Its lithium ion battery can be
recharged up to 500 times. Fully charged, the
power pack will charge the Streamlight ProTac
HL USB 2 time and IPhones 2 to 3 full charges.

Streamlight included four charging status

indicator LEDs. They show remaining charge in
25% increments and blink when the EPU-5200 is
charging. Pressing the power button toggles the
battery pack on and off. Pressing and holding
for a second turns on the included 5mm white
LED task light.
The EPU-5200 is also IPX4 water resistant and
includes a tethered, O-ring sealed, cap that
protects the power button and two USB ports.
The housing has a removable MOLLE compliant
steel clip, which is useable on PALS webbing as
well as belt mounting.
