Garrott's had almost 8 years to champion the changes/policies he claims as priorities as a mayoral candidate.
Why has he waited until now to engage in the work he believes is so important to residents? Also, there's
video going around of his testimony in a 2013 Council meeting where he says there should be more billboards
in SLC, but it is currently feigning righteous indignation at the hilarious shenanigans of Dewey Reagan and
Co. (can we call it billboard gate?) Would love to hear the Professor account for the seemingly contradictory
stances.

Our real concern here should be the abysmal lack of journalism happening in this story. This reporter captures
the he said, she said but no actual analysis (aka, research/expert weigh-in/actual work) happening, per usual.
What about election laws? Shouldn't someone who is not a candidate be asked a question? Good grief. And,
again, this reporters stance seems to be tacking according to the winds blowing from the editorial department.
So shabby. I'm bummed there is no reasonable alternative to this paper, whose trustworthiness is slipping
away.

While this reporter continues to shore-up the Trib's mayoral endorsement through his laughably skewed
reporting, Utah Policy is eating the Trib's lunch on ACTUAL issues, not the least of which is Biskupski's clear
pattern of campaign shenanigans and ethically dubious workarounds. While some may pshaw LaVarr Webb's
news efforts, it's galactically more honest than the Trib's sham efforts to feign separation between their
opinion pages and "journalism". Maybe this is the tactic to incite purchase of a new Trib "membership"? Is the
real news on the other side of the paywall??

Someone needs to hold Biskupski accountable for her complicit behavior, re:Utah's outdoor advertising
industry. A little investigative reporting from the Trib, perhaps? Her record as a legislator not only reflects over
a decade of happily accepting Dewey Reagan and co.'s pay-to-play campaign donations, but has an equally
long voting record in supporting legislation that has created unprecedented loopholes and accommodations
for an obnoxious realm of consumer baiting. She says she opposes the corporate citizenship carveout of the
SCOTUS ruling on Citizens United, but her failure to take action on the DeweyPAC ads reflects otherwise. Fit
to lead our city? c'mon.

Becker released docs indicating Burbank tried to quash the Findlay investigation in May 2013 (excerpt: May
10, 2013 Based on an internal PD review of Findlays cell phone, Chief Burbank calls HR
Director to indicate no inappropriate pictures were found. Based on that, he tells her to shut down the
EEO investigation. Citing the complaints and pending investigation, she refuses and indicates the inquiry
will continue.) Am I the only one who wants to know if this is true of the Trib's 2011 "Man of the Year"?

Fun guy to have at a party, but voters should check out his record (or lack of) in the realm of public service.
Led state Dems into their worst electoral showing in decades, has achieved next to nothing as a state Senator
(check the numbers on Utah Data Points site) and has hilariously taken credit for the work of others on
numerous occasions. See his grandstanding on state anti-discrimination bill (work begun by former Sen.
McAdams and carried forward by Sen. Urquhart) and, most recently, claiming POTUS came because Jim
called via a leg resolution. Yikes.
