1) Enter Basic Input and Output System (BIOS) Setup after booting computer by pressing DEL or F2 keys.
2) Go to Standard CMOS1 Features and check if time and date are correct, if it is not then set the correct date and time. Check
also if Hard Disk Drive (HDD) and Compact DiskRead Only Memory (CD-ROM) is detected by the system, if not, enable HDD
and CD-ROM.

4) Check boot order and ensure that the CD-ROM is the first in the boot order if installing via CD.
5) Insert Windows XP Installation CD in the CD-ROM tray and save BIOS setting then exit so the PC would reboot.
6) Press any key when prompted by the system to boot from CD.
7) The system will load the necessary files needed to run the installation of the Operating System.
8) Initial screen of the XP installation. Press ENTER since we are installing a new OS.
10) Since the HDD is not yet formatted, it will show only as unpartitioned space. Press C to create partition.
11) If the Personal Computer (PC) or Laptop Computer has an Operations System (OS) previously installed, the screen will show
it differently. If there are existing partitions, choose DRIVE C: for the installation of the OS and press enter if the desired
number and size of drives, especially C:, is already set. If the number and size of drives is different from our preference,
delete the drives by selecting it and pressing D.
12) After deleting all the partitions, it will show like a brand new HDD which has not been formatted. Press C to create the
partition and
13) Input the desired size of the HDD and press ENTER.
14) Format the partition using the New Technology File System (NTFS) and not File Allocation Table (FAT) file system. Note that
we do not select the quick formatting option.
16) After formatting the HDD, the system will reboot. You could wait for automatic rebooting or press Enter to reboot
immediately.
17) DO NOT PRESS ANY KEY when the computer reboots and the screen below appears so the windows could start installing
the OS.
19) Since we do not need to change any setting, just press NEXT.
20) You could input you name and if present, your organization.
21) The Product Key of the CD is in the sleeve, just input it in the pop-up window.
25) Press next unless you are using a different network name in an existing network.
27) When XP finds the optimal setting, it will continue with the screen shown below.
28) Windows XP shall ask the user to input some information, press next to continue.
31) XP will ask if you want to register your windows XP which is OPTIONAL.
32) Input the User Names of the computer. Additional users can be added later.

33) Successfully installed and configured Windows XP.
