The strategy of the project is the improving

quality of people life in informal settlement in
Guayaquil. The project attract a lot of people
with colourful house in small hill and comfortable
staircases. The tourist will be safe in this area
because of the protection of guardian. In some
part of the project appear the gate that limit the
area for tourist that cannot entering .However, In
small scale , This action create a gap between
inside and outside tourist site and the people live
between the gate .

Term of slum upgrading is not only mean changing

the facade. The most important thing is the better social
connection and improve the quality of open space .

Sketch of the settlement along the river .This house have 5 members with parents and
3 children. The house was renovated by themselves because of the extending family.

The main theme of the project created a pedestrian

bridge for the people live in Malecon del Salado. the
coins is that this bridge block the connection between
settlement and water also the view of the house. However
,the pros of this project is the formalisation of informal
settlement along the river

The scale of this project is a challenge

for the urban design and planning.
.The conflict between local people
and their municipality created a
huge disadvantage for the process
of this project. The problem is not from
the ecological park itself , but also
started from the poor condition of the
resettlement.

Guayaquil, the biggest city in Ecuador are challenged

with the high population and the spreading of informal
settlement development. Many projects started to solve
the conflict between rich and poor , formal and informal
. The only solution is the combination between top-down
analysis and bottom-up research .This documentary illustrates the consequence of the project after few years later
. The community project is a not a short term , it require the
observation and experience . Some of the project lack of
the social connection .However ,most of them show the
strategy of the government that access the sustainable
development in near future .
