The Society is affiliated with the RAS and this show runs under RAS rules.

Rider/Handlers age and eligibility is determined as per the 1 August i.e. Riders/handlers
who are of age for any division/section on the 1 August complete the show year/ season
in that division/section.
Novice Classes a Novice is a horse or pony which has not won 0-5 first placings in
conformation classes at any A&P or Open Show, at the time of the show. Refer to RAS
rule in regards to rider ages for Novice classes including Novice Horse classes.
All horses and ponies to be shown in snaffle bits only (excluding harness). No horse or
pony under the age of 3 years is permitted to be shown under saddle or in harness.
Competitors to wear safety approved helmets while mounted.
Jackets and plaiting optional.
No dogs you will be asked to remove them from the showgrounds.
Any stallions must by handled by a person 17 years or over It is compulsory for all
stallions and colts, except foals, to wear two (2) official S identification badges, one
attached to each side of their bridle, at all Shows/Events at all times. The rider must also
wear two RAS official (2) armbands (one on each arm) when in the ring. S badges to
be purchased from RAS Head Office or ESNZ; armbands from RAS Head
Office. Handlers and Riders of stallions/colts must wear an approved Hi Viz vest at
Shows/Events when outside the showing ring. Vests can be purchased from RAS Head
Office.
There will be no refunds of any fees. A horse may be substituted on production of a Vet
certificate provided the substitute is eligible for the classes.
The Society reserves the right to refuse or cancel any entry without giving a reason for
doing so and reserves the right to alter the timetable or combine sections that it deem
necessary.
Each horse or pony is eligible for one in hand and one ridden section only.
Where classes are defined by height, competitors/exhibitors must carry a current RAS
Certificate for their horse/pony, and must produce it upon request to any authorised
Show/Event personnel. Any competitor unable to produce such a certificate means that
the exhibit is ineligible to compete, and will forfeit any awards.
Ribbons to be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. The judges decision is final.
Competitors are responsible for supplying their own number.
Entries will only be accepted on the official entry form, & full payment must be made
with those entries. Entries close with the Secretary on the 19th September 2015
PRIVACY ACT 1. The Society holds records of names, addresses and payment
records of all members and exhibitors and will publish these (other than payment
records) as necessary for media show reports, show results and other relevant
publications unless otherwise advised. This information could also be shared with other
affiliated Societies & Associations.
HEALTH & SAFETY 2. The Society will not be responsible for any accident, loss or
damage that may be caused to or suffered by an exhibit, or which may be caused
directly or indirectly by any other exhibit, notwithstanding any alleged negligence on the
part of any officer or servant of the Society, and it shall be a condition of entry that each
exhibitor shall hold the Society indemnified against any claim in respect of any such
accident, loss or damage caused by any exhibit of such exhibitors. By entering
exhibitors accept the Societys conditions of entry and indemnify the Society under the
provisions of the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992 and subsequent
amendments. 3. Each exhibitor must supervise and control their animals at all times and
shall be liable for any hazards created or accidents, illness or damage caused by the
action of themselves or their animals at the showgrounds. Exhibitors must comply with
the appropriate current animal legislation within NZ and this includes appropriate care of
their animals. Any abuse of animals could result in a yellow card being presented to the
owner and/or exhibitor. Exhibitors must also comply with the Health and Safety in
Employment Act 1992 and subsequent amendments. 4. The Society reserves the right
to order immediate removal from the Showgrounds, of any animal it considers unruly or
unmanageable. 5. It is the Society's policy to see that all due care is taken to protect
property and to protect and to keep in efficient order its own property, and to make
provision for the protection of the property of others, but the Society shall not be liable to
any person in case of loss or damage by reason of any defect, accident, negligence or
neglect howsoever arising. 6. Persons occupying grandstands, buildings, other
structures or other seating accommodation on the Showground do so at their own risk,
and no claim shall be made against the Society in respect of any loss, or injury by
reason of any defect of accident, or by reason of any act or omission whether negligent
or otherwise, on the part of the Society or of any employee or agent of the Society or on
the part of any other person. 7. Parking is entirely at the owners own risk. Any vehicles
parked will be on this condition and the Society accepts no responsibility for any loss,
theft, injury or damage is attributed to any negligence on the part of the Society, its
employees or stewards.
