The noises are caused by relative movements of the doors (on the door.

Technical background
Because of different environmental conditions and dirt or sticky films (e.g. wax, relative movements
of the components can lead to squeaking, cracking and creaking noises.

Production change
Ongoing measures to avoid/minimise noises.

Measure
Clean all door seals, window frame rubber seals and contact areas (paint and apply Krytox (special
lubricant spray as shown in below.

Before applying Krytox (special lubricant spray all parts must be thoroughly cleaned.
1. Start by cleaning the worst of the dirt on all the door seals with water - if necessary add
cleaner
to the water, for example washing-up liquid.

with glass or silicon cleaner.

4. Air thoroughly or dry with compressed air.
5. Thoroughly clean the contact surfaces (paint and polish if necessary.
6. Treat all the door seals & window frame rubber seals carefully with a little Krytox spray
and air well - the layer must not be visible any more.

Explain to the customer that this is a care measure.

To prevent a recurrence, regular care of the door seals, window frame rubber seals is necessary. See
also the owner's manual. Please refer the page number 227. From owners manual.

Recommend lubricant as a care product for the seals to the customer (part number: D 000 810 A1.

Warranty accounting instructions

1. For the treatment of all door seals & window frame rubber seals a maximum of 33 ml Krytox
(special lubricant spray - part number G 052 172 A2 is needed. Normally you can treat at least three
vehicles with one spray can. Therefore only 33% of the costs of the Krytox must be claimed under
warranty.
2.The lubricant (part number: D 000 810 A1 cannot be claimed, as it is a care product for the
long-term maintenance of the vehicle, for which the customer is responsible himself. The
customer must therefore pay for the lubricant.
3.The labour times are correct at the time of publication. The time units (TU may differ slightly,
if the repair catalogue has been updated. The information in the repair operations catalogue
applies, except for the open time items (... 99.
4.The necessary time for using the diagnostic tester are not included in the above times; they
are kept separate.
