Coursework: Presentation to the Board of Directors

Introduction
For the purpose of this task you are required to base your
response on your own company or one with which you are
sufficiently familiar. You can draw on resources that you may have
already or those which may be available on the internet or in the
literature. You are not required to do any primary research for this
task.
The Task
You are a recently appointed HR Director and the VP has asked
you to present a short report to the Board of Directors on the
companys future medium term strategy, particularly addressing
the issues of how the company is planning to respond to external
market shifts and trends and any internal changes likely to impact
on the company. The Board of Directors is meeting on Monday 15 th
June in the afternoon, and you have been given a 10 minute slot
on the agenda to present the highlights of your report.
For this task you are required to do the following:
1. Produce a 10 minute presentation outlining the main
strategic issues and imperatives
2. Include evidence of the application of at least one of the
main strategic analysis models, with appropriate supporting
references
3. Make some explicit recommendations for how the company
can respond to the issues identified in your analysis
In terms of the presentation, you will be given 10 minutes to
present your findings to a small group of your peers and the
module tutor.
Please note that in addition to the mark awarded by your tutor,
your peers will also be assessing your presentation. 70% of the
mark will be from your tutor and 30% of the mark will be from your
peers. This will be a small group of around 6 of your fellow
classmates.

Return of Marked Work
You can expect to have marked work returned to you by 4 weeks after the
