HEALHCARE.GOV PROJECT- GETTING 2015 HEALTH COVERAGE

STAGE 1-SCOPE STATEMENT

OVERVIEW
1. Project Background and Description
The Open Enrollment period for 2015 coverage is over. And the Open Enrollment coverage starts on November 1,
2015. Until then, one can still get coverage. It depends if one qualifies for a Special Enrollment Period due to a life
change like marriage, having a baby, or losing other coverage or through Medicaid and the Childrens Health
Insurance Program, which provide coverage to families and individuals with limited income or other reasons. The
Project aims to assist individuals to select a health coverage even after the Enrolment period for the coverage is over.
It will create a rich web content, where individuals can select options and based on the options selected the platform
will provide with the best Insurance coverage plan.

3. High-Level Requirements
The new system must include the following:
Ability to allow both internal and external users to access the application
Ability to select the existing options and providing a coverage plan
Ability to follow and adhere to the specified business rules

4. Deliverables
Insurance plans to be offered to individuals depending on their present scenarios
Plans as dictated by the selected options

6. Specific Exclusions from Scope

The project doesnt take the responsibility of validating the options selected by the individuals. The project will not
introduce any new plans other than those that are approved.

7. Implementation Plan
The project aims to provide a rich web based platform where individuals can select coverage based on their present
status. The platform will be rolled out at once after it is tested. The project team has to collaborate and come up with
the platform where individuals can select options owing to their present scenarios. The team will have to meet daily to
discuss the progress of the project and any issues that needs to be addressed.

8. High-Level Timeline/Schedule
The project needs to be completed within two months. The planning and analysis with respect to the project will be
done within 15 days. The development and deployment of the project will take place in the next one month. The
project is expected to be completed by September 30, 2015.
