STATE OF KANSAS, JOHNSON COUNTY, ss:
I, Erika N. DeMarco, Assistant District Attorney of said County, being duly
sworn on oath state to the Court that
MARISSA CAROL FIELDS
did the following:
COUNT I -- That on or between the 11th day of December, 2014, and the 26th day of
December, 2014, in the City of Olathe, County of Johnson, State of Kansas, MARISSA
CAROL FIELDS did then and there unlawfully, and feloniously kill a human being, towit: baby girl Fields (XX/XX/2014), in the commission of an inherently dangerous felony,
to-wit: aggravated abandonment of a child, as defined in K.S.A. 21-5605(b), an off-grid
person felony, in violation of K.S.A. 21-5402 and K.S.A. 21-6806. (first-degree murder)
COUNT II -- That on or between the 11th day of December, 2014, and the 26th day of
December, 2014, in the City of Olathe, County of Johnson, State of Kansas, MARISSA
CAROL FIELDS did then and there unlawfully and feloniously leave a child under the
age of 16 years, to wit: baby girl Fields (XX/XX/2014), in a place where such child may
suffer because of neglect by the parent when done with the intent to abandon said child,
and said act resulted in great bodily harm to said child, a severity level 5 person felony,
in violation of K.S.A. 21-5605(b,) K.S.A. 21-6804 and K.S.A. 21-6807. (aggravated
abandonment of a child)
