ABSTRACTION:

This android application will guide a user around college VTU PG Center
Mysore region details such as news with regard to institution, courses available in
PG Center, faculties recruited for different courses. Some of the information
provided by the application is historical such as events and news. Application
provides news and events related to our college, it provides past news and past
events along with present and upcoming news as well as events. This application
provides a photo gallery and video gallery of each events that may happened in
our PG Center. The application is driven by GCM capabilities that help track the
events and news which will be synchronized dynamically from cloud to android
app.

Now a days it is common that most of people using android

platform mobile devices. To get latest information about college,
student or college staffs need to get through manually by visiting
into a college campus or user has to check college websites.
Our project VTU Mysore is an android-based app designed to
share the information among the staffs, faculties, students and
various departments of our college. So once user downloaded the
VTU Mysore app , he will get latest dynamic information about

events takes place in college, notifications about student related

activities etc.

This app acts as college portal mean it also provides information

regarding faculties available for each of the departments ,
facilities available in the college as well as more college
information along with the contact details of college.

This app provides college related news, that will be categorized

as top news and recent news.

Courses:
This module will provide user a details about description
courses available in VTU PG Center along with seats availability
for each course.

Faculty:
It provides a details about faculties available in each department
of VTU PG Center.
Events:
It provides information about past events, upcoming events,
and current events.

Map:
It shows the college map which will makes user easier to travel
around college campus.

Facilities:
It provides the details about facilities available in college.

Media:
By this user can get latest photos, videos of any events
organized in the college.

About Us:
It provides the details about history of college.

Contact Us:
It provides contact details about each department contact
details.

CONCLUSION:

VTU Mysore app can be an effectively used by college staffs and students. They
can get dynamic information related to college instantly when information will be loaded to
cloud with the Googles feature called GCM (Google Cloud Messaging) approach.
