About CityConnect

Central Area Frontage Plan

Consultation on the route between the Bradford border

and Bramley has been on-going since February but
Stanningley is an area that needs a different approach.

In Stanningley there is a diversity of businesses plus

residential houses that all have their own needs from
the street layout. To identify these needs we have held
a series of local workshops which have led us to propose
the designs you see here.
Instead of segregated cycle tracks we are proposing
to enhance the streetscape, introduce a 20mph zone
and create an environment that will help local businesses
to thrive, encourage people into the area for business
as well as visit the cafes, pubs and restaurants and
enable cyclists to pass through in safety.

The CityConnect Cycle Superhighway will run from

East Leeds, through Leeds City Centre and out to
Bradford. For most of its length it will consist of cycle
tracks and junction improvements that keep cyclists
segregated from general traffic and will be suitable
for all ages and abilities, as well as giving improvements
for pedestrians.
