SBI OFFICERS SERVICE RULES
RULE 3(1)(h)
After creation of position of the Deputy General Manager(Business &
Operations) at the erstwhile module headquarters, alongwith other
organisational restructuring, it has necessitated to review the existing
delegation of administrative powers.
2.
We have examined the matter and the Executive Committee of the
Central Board, in its meeting held on the 6th January, 2012, has approved to
delegate the administrative powers for deciding disciplinary cases in respect
of various grades of officers in terms of Rule 3(1)(h) of SBI Officers Service
rules, as under:

Authority to impose penalty: In terms of Rule 68(1)(ii) of SBI Officers
Service Rules, the Disciplinary Authority or any Authority higher than it may
impose any of the penalties in Rule 67 on an Officer. Provided that where the
Disciplinary Authority is lower in rank than the Appointing Authority in respect
of the category of officers to which the officer belongs, no order imposing
any of the penalties specified in clause (e), (f),(g),(h),(i) & (j) of Rule 67 shall
be made except by the Appointing Authority or any authority higher than it
on the recommendations of the Disciplinary Authority.
5.

identify
amongst
the
designated
Disciplinary
Authority/Appellate Authority i.e. DGM/GM/CGM, who shall be the
appropriate authority in respect of officers in JMGS I to TEGS VII, under the
rules, where it is not specially provided.
