This document specifies the requirements for Manufacturer of ACSR Conductor.

2) APPLICATION:
The ACSR, DOG conductors are used for transmitting the power from Wind farms and Solar
parks to Grid.

5) QUALITY ASSURANCE AND QUALITY CONTROL:


1. The Quality Assurance Plan(QAP) shall be as per TRISHE Documents.
2. All the materials shall be inspected as per the relevant IS, technical specifications Quality
Assurance Plan as approved by Trishe.
3. Supplier should give inspection call well in advance and the Conductor shall be ready in all
aspects at the time of inspection.

7) DELIVERY CONDITIONS AND PACKING:
1. The materials shall be dispatched carefully to avoid transit damages.
2. All the Pocelain materials such as Pin, Disc & guy insulators shall be packed in in wooden
crates to avoid transit damages.
3. Material which is not as per the specification is liable to be rejected and supplier has to make
all necessary arrangement for taking back the rejection/ replacement at their cost and risk.

8) DOCUMENTS :
1. The supplier shall submit the Guaranteed Technical Particulars along with offer.
2. The supplier shall submit Quality Assurance Plan along with Offer for approval.
3. The type test certificate for Dog Conductor.
4. The Manufacturer shall furnish 3 copies of Original Routine Test certificates indicating all test
results.
5. Copies of Test Certificates and Inspection in process reports are based on Agreed QAP for
all raw materials shall be given at the time of inspection.
9) TEST AND GUARANTEE CERTIFICATES:
1. Routine Test

3. The manufacturer shall furnish 3 copies Routine test Certificates indicating all test results.
4. Two sets of each test and guarantee certificates shall be supplied along with invoice and 1
set of each above along with goods, for each item of the consig

purchase order number and Manufacturer identification number/ Serial number.


10) DEVIATION:
Supplier shall clearly indicate deviations from the TRISHE Specifications. For any such deviations
prior approval needs to be sought from TRISHE before taking up the manufacturing process.
11) TOLERANCES:
The Manufacturing tolerances to the extent of the following limits only shall be permitted in
the diameter of individual aluminium and steel strands and lay ratio of the conductor:

12) MATERIALS:
12.1 Aluminium
The Aluminium strands shall be hard drawn from electrolytic aluminium rods having
purity not less than 99.5% and a copper content not exceeding 0.04%. They shall have
the same properties and characteristics as prescribed in IEC: 889.
12.2 Steel:
The steel wire strands shall be drawn from high carbon steel wire rods produced by either
the acid or the basic open-hearth process, the electric furnace process, or the basic

The steel wire strands shall have the same properties and characteristics as prescribed for
Regular strength steel wire in IEC :888-1987
12.3: Zinc
The zinc used for galvanizing shall be electrolytic High Grade Zinc of 99.95% purity. It shall
confirm to and satisfy all the requirements of IS:209
12.4: Standard Length:
The standard length of the conductor shall be 2000 meters. A tolerance of +/-5% on the standard
length shall be permitted. All lengths outside the limit of tolerances shall be treated as random
lengths.
13) Joints in Wire:
13.1: Aluminium Wires:
a) During stranding, no Aluminium wire welds shall be made for the purpose of achieving
the required conductor length.
b) No joints shall be permitted in the individual wires in the outer most layer of the finished
conductor.
c) Joints shall be made by cold pressure butt welding and shall withstand a stress of not
less than the breaking strength of individual strand.
13.2: Steel Wires:
a) There shall be no joint of any kind in the finished wire entering into the manufacture of
the strand. There shall also be no strand joints or strand splices in any length of the
completed stranded steel core of the conductor.
