To Whom It May Concern:
This letter is to inform you that my graduate student Student's Name has been offered an internship position at Company/Lab in Boston, MA for the
Semester/Year semester for approximately 40 hours per week.
Mr. Student's Name's dissertation topic is " Thesis/Dissertation Topic" which involves investigating effective communication techniques with XMLbased protocols, design of XML protocol algorithms, and development of software for testing. XML web services protocols are the latest industry
standards for Internet communication and enterprise application integration. For example, the upcoming Microsoft Vista operating system makes
extensive use of XML web services to communicate over the Internet or local area network with devices such as printers, scanners, and other
machines. The Computer Science Department at Florida State has no access to resources used by several industrial research projects in the area of
XML Web services for enterprise communications, such as specialized software tools and Wed services-enabled routers. Company/Lab is a leading
company in enterprise communication infrastructure that provides a unique opportunity for Student's Name to conduct advanced research necessary
for completion of his dissertation.
Mr. Student's Name has completed his graduate course work, and is eligible to conduct research for his prospectus/thesis/dissertation. Therefore, I
recommend that Student's Name be granted permission for Curricular Practical Training (CPT) at Company/Lab during the Semester/Year semester for
successful continuation of his dissertation research. Should you have any questions or need any additional information, please do not hesitate to
contact me.
Sincerely,
