CUSTOMER CREATION
In this section, we will look at setting up customers and the different types of customers
available in EMERGE eMerge.
Many EMERGE eMerge users will set up records for potential customers. This is done
as they may need to meet with the Manager before they can be accepted as full
customers of the bank.
1.1
Potential Customer
A Potential Customer is an individual or (non-individual) who has approached your
bank for information or who has made a loan application, but who has either not yet
decided to make use of the facilities offered by your bank or who has not yet been
accepted by your institution.
1.2
Full Customer
A Full Customer is an individual or (non-individual) whose membership has been
approved by the appropriate authority and has been given an account and been offered
any of the facilities offered by the bank.
If a potential customer record exists then this can be transferred into the full customer
live file once their membership has been approved, so there is no need to input all the
details a second time. This is done just by inputting the potential customer ID number.
All the fields on the live customer file will be populated with the information previously
captured for the Potential Customer and you will be able to amend data as required.

Non-Individual Customer
Potential Non-Individual Customer
Non-Individual Full Customer
The term individual is used for a customer who is a person who wishes to deal with
your institution/bank in his or her right.
The term non-individual is used for an entity such as a company, partnership, group,
club etc. that wishes to deal with your institution/bank.
