The ever-popular Celebrate with Song is now in its fourth year,
bringing you the opportunity to sing mixed-voice Jewish choral
music alongside some of the UK’s best-known practitioners. This
year we are focussing on music used for entertainment, including
music from operetta, the yiddish theatre and musicals by both
british and american composers. come and hone your vocal skills
and perform with us.

The workshop leaders:


Benjamin Wolf (Adult workshops) is Musical Director of the
Zemel Choir. He has performed with the choir at major London
venues, on tour in Israel and Europe and for the BBC. He con-
ducts a number of other choirs in and around London, as well
as composing music for theatre and the concert hall and
singing with the acclaimed barbershop quartet, bOYbershop. As
pianist he performs in both the UK and abroad. As orchestral
conductor he conducts the Wallace Ensemble - a professional
chamber orchestra.

Simona Budd (Youth workshops) works at the London School of


Musical Theatre and Trinity College of Music Junior
Department. She is a Performance & Repertoire coach on the
Musical Theatre Course at the Tring Park School for the
Performing Arts and gives vocal and musical theatre workshops
with various choirs and drama organisations. She has recently
started working with the New London Children’s Choir as one
of their supporting conductors.

Mary Hammond (Guest Voice Coach) is one of the uk’s leading


voice coaches, and works in a diverse range of styles. She has
recorded extensively for tv and radio, and has recently worked
with acts such as Coldplay, Dido, Kaiser Chiefs, Katherine Jenkins
and The Saturdays. she has worked as voice coach on at least 26
west end shows, and is in charge of the music theatre course at
the royal academy of music. She gives workshops internationally,
and is a board member of the british voice association.

Barry Davis (Lecturer) is a writer on jewish history, actor and


expert in yiddish and the yiddish theatre. He regularly works
for jewish organisations in the UK, including the Jewish Music
Institute and the Spiro Ark.
