1 Description of Change
1.2

Description of Sites
The target sites of activating feature WRFD-010652 SRB over HSDPA are
HSDPA enabled site.
The current SRB is setup on DCH while HSDPA service is setup, the transmit
power control (TPC) command is transmitted to the UE on an A-DPCH. After
feature WRFD-010652 SRB over HSDPA is activated, downlink SRB of a support
UE are carried on HSDPA, and the A-DPCH is replaced with the F-DPCH.

1.3

Purpose and Requirements

F-DPCH binding with SRB over HSDPA can make full use of the downlink codes
and power due to replacing many DPCHs. As a result, it make more codes and
power available for HSDPA to improve the downlink capacity. (eg., if A-DPCH using
code SF=256, F-DPCH can be shared by 10 UEs, which means max 9 SF=256
codes and power resource can be saved). Moreover, the SRB over HSDPA is
prerequisite of another feature WRFD-010686 CPC-DTX/DRX which is planned to
be introduced to production network.
This feature requires both network and handsets to support.

To enable this feature, the network performance optimization parameters and
function switches are going to be tuned to ensure the user experiences.

Monitoring and Maintenance Switches

After WRFD-010652 SRB over HSDPA being enabled on production network,
there are risks that PS call drop rate will increase. The following switches will be
set to recommended value to facilitate the investigation and troubleshooting
process.
