HOLIDAY HOME WORK

2015-16
CLASS II

Dear Children,
Summer holidays are about to begin. You will get time for fun, frolic and
relaxation. Most of you must be excited about the travel plans your parents
have made for the vacation. We have planned some light hearted and fun
filled activities for the vacation to keep you involved.
You should spend quality of time with your family, relatives, and friends
.Engage yourself in the activities which enhance your personality.
Reading is the gateway to all knowledge .Read any 2 lessons of each
subject. Underline the difficult words, find the meaning and write it
above the words.
Improve your handwriting, spelling and vocabulary to enhance your
command over English language. Every Friday do 2 pages of
cursive writing in cursive book (10 pgs).
Go for a morning walk everyday to build your inner strength and
immunity.
Avoid spending too much time in front of television, computers and
play station.

July, 2015 (Monday)

Note- All work has to be done on A-4 size coloured sheets and
compiled in an attractive folder made from recycled paper/
newspaper.

ENGLISH
Creative corner -(to be done in English notebook)
o Read the newspaper daily and paste any 2 newspaper articles
in your notebook and circle any 5 Verbs, 5 Adjectives and 5
Nouns using different colours and write all these words and
make sentences using these words.
What happened? These sentences tell a story, but they are in the
wrong order. Write them in the correct order.

Reading books make summer time memorable and an enjoyable one,


so go ahead and pick any story book of your choice. Then, write the
following information about the book you read.
Title of the book
Author of the book
Time taken to read the book

Names of the main characters of the story


A few sentences about your experience
Draw and colour a picture related to the story
Pick any 10 big words from the book you read and try to make as
many words you can make out of these big words.
For eg.

Make simple sentences of all those slelected words.

Roll a dice three times. Note down the outcomes, then form 3 digit
numbers with the outcomes.

Write the place value of each digit in the number formed.


Write their number names.
Practice this activity as often as you can.

Practice forward counting from 100 to 999.


Practice writing number name from 100 to 999.
Practice addition of three digit number (atleast 10 sums in a week).

Please fill in the squares so the sums are correct on the right side
and on the bottom. The first one has been done for you.

Sort the following numbers into 2 boxes. Put even numbers in Box A and
odd numbers in Box B.

Busy Bees
Click pictures of yourself doing various activities at home. Paste pictures
of any two activities which you enjoyed doing the most and write four or
