Activities:
1. Teacher introduces pupils to a jazz chant (TB
page:67). Pupils listen to teachers reading.
2. Repeat after the teacher with actions
3. Teacher explains about manners and language
function.
4. Teacher introduces two simple sentences on how
to thank someone and express a simple apology.
5. Pupils repeat and act out the sentences with
correct stress and intonation.
6. Teacher shows a slide presentation regarding the
language functions. Pupils respond to it.
7. Teacher calls out a few pupils to act out situation.
8. Pupils complete a worksheet with guidance.

pg:66). Pupils listen.
2. Pupils read the story after the teacher. Teacher let
the pupils make mistakes as correction will be
made later.
3. Teacher draws out a few words from the story
that emphasis on letter sound of /h/, /r/ and /b/
4. Play a sound station game (Refer to TB pg:65)
5. Pupils blend two to four phonemes and read the
words aloud
