1. One main issue that divides African Americans and Caucasian people still today would be
what? One major issue. Affirmative action
2. Whats the difference between VEP and VAP? Voter eligibility population is anyone over
18 who is registered to vote, not a criminal, is a citizen. It is lower than VAP and it
removes individuals from the data who are actually ineligible to vote. Voter age
population is anyone over the age of 18.
3. What is one major time period that African Americans started to vote in large numbers?
During the civil rights movement- the civil rights act of 1964 and the commerce clause
and the voting rights act of 1965 (you cant discriminate based on race, color, sex etc.)
4. What are some advantages of incumbent? Name recognition, ability to raise money
5. Franking privileges is what? Sending out mass emails for no cost

Religious, people in small communities, people in lower social economic status, people
with economical distress, or people higher than average incomes? People higher than
average incomes- have to do with their wallet
