1 INTRODUCTION

This document contains the release notes of Nemo Handy-A version 2.50, release date January 26th
2015. The document describes new functionalities and features, and new supported terminals.

2 NEW FEATURES IN HANDY 2.50

2.1 Support for Dropbox

2.1.1

Dropbox application testing

With Dropbox testing you check the performance how quickly you can download and upload files to
your Dropbox account. A separate license option is needed for Nemo Handy before this will come
available. Please contact Anite sales for further information how to obtain the license upgrade

2.1.2

Use Dropbox to distribute your files

Dropbox account can also be used to distribute the Handy settings and script files. You can find the
possibility to upload your settings to Dropbox from the export settings menu.

2.2 Support for PCTEL IBFlex scanner

PCTEL IBFlex scanner is now supported in Nemo Handy. Technologies that will be supported are
GSM, CDMA, EVDO, UMTS and LTE.
The following scanning modes are available with the scanner:

Pilot scanning: UMTS, EVDO and CDMA

Frequency scanning: GSM, UMTS, CDMA, EVDO and LTE

LTE OFDM scan

To be able to use the scanner with android applications the PCTEL service API
(SeeGullConnect_1.0.1.9.apk) needs to be installed on the terminal.

2.3 Custom view

With the custom view feature user can create a new view from the scratch. User can choose e.g.
what kind of graph will be added to show the parameters. Individual font size can also be
configured for the custom view.
Please check the manual how to make your own displays.

2.4 Over-the-air (OTA) Handy application update

With the OTA feature user can upgrade the existing Handy application to a updated version directly
from the Handy application. Update will determine if the Technical Support is valid on the license
before showing the new updates. Handy will check every time you start that is there a new version
available. You can also check this from the settings.

2.5 Script event: Flight mode on/off

With the Flight mode on / off, users can check how the terminal behaves when the terminal modem
is being turned off and on. E.g. a LTE detach / attach will be done while these commands are used.
Notice that also Bluetooth connection will be turned off while this command is used.

2.6 Improved BTS file functionality on the map

You can now define the cell range based on the value of the BTS information.

5 COMPATIBILITY

5.1 Log File Format Compatibility

Nemo Handy-A 2.50.265 writes log files according to Nemo File Format v.2.21. The Nemo File
Manager version 3.10.59 or newer is compatible with Nemo Handy-A 2.50.

Full support for Nemo Handy-A 2.50 log files is available with Nemo Analyze version 7.2 and Nemo
Outdoor version 7.4 and later. Older versions of Nemo Analyze and Nemo Outdoor can be used as
well, but the new metrics added to the Nemo File Format v2.21 will not be displayed.

5.2 Nemo Handy-A Autonomous Compatibility

Nemo Handy-A Autonomous v2.50 is compatible with Nemo Commander 7.20 or later.

5.3 Terminal and Scanner Compatibility

Previous versions of Nemo Handy-A can be upgraded to the new version by uninstalling the old
version first from the terminal.
Notice, that DRT scanner needs to have firmware 01.07.00 before it can be used with Nemo HandyA
Notice, that DRT scanner requires a Samsung Galaxy S4+, S5 terminal, Note 3, Note 4 or Samsung
10.1 2014 edition tablet.

Current FW version can be checked from Nemo Handy-A About menu. FW upgrade must be
performed by Anite. Contact Nemo Helpdesk for further details at nemosupport@anite.com.

6 LICENSING

Notice that before you do a factory reset for the terminal you need to release the license back to
the OTA license server from Handy license menu. If you are not releasing the license from Handy
before you reset the license you cannot obtain a new license without contacting Nemo Helpdesk.

7 KNOWN ISSUES

HTTP browsing scripts downloading Web pages with Java scripts may cause Handy crash after
few hours of measurement. The problem is caused by memory leakage in the Android Web
browser
GSM diagnostics is are not working correctly with TD-LTE terminals: Samsung Galaxy S4 TD-LTE
GT-I9507, Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini TD-LTE GT-I9197
Samsung GS5: VQ call audios are not always routed correctly. At some point no audios can be
heard, but MOS values are still gained and recorded
Samsung GS5: HSUPA parameters are not recorded / shown on the views
Samsung GS5 (Sprint): Packet technology shows LTE after lock to CDMA
Samsung GS5 (Sprint): Some EVDO parameters shown as N/A
HTC: forcing functions are not supported
PCI forcing is supported with Samsung S5 and Note4 terminals, but it will be released when
RRC release is done
To be able to achieve maximum Wi-Fi throughputs, please do turn of the Wi-Fi location feature
in the terminal. Go to Location Services in settings and disable Use Wireless Networks for
location.
