BROADCASTING FIELD
organization. Thus, adjusting oneself and mingling others is a must to cope up with
furtherance, OJT will be a bridge to enhance our skills in communication and technical
activities that makes it a plus point the sooner we landed a job and help ease the culture
started on May 30, 2009 and lasted until July 31, 2009. On the first day, I met Mr.
Elipidio M. Cabral, the Broadcast Traffic Officer who aided me from the start until the
end of my training, and Mr. Joey L. Castillejos, a showbiz reporter from DWAD, DWDD,
was like having a bundle of nerves because I do not know what to expect. However, as
the day progresses, it turned out to be an exciting and fruitful day for me. I learned the
also the time to apply the things I learned from School. I still remember it clearly, making
a script for local news was the first task assigned to me. Then as day passes by, I also
got the chance to deliver news on air. It was a very red letter day for me hearing
recognition from relatives and friends that they have heard me on air. Another duty
assigned to me was making some trivia’s that were on season. I chose to make a
trivia’s related to food and health like AH1N1 which was popular the last few months.
One of the highlights of my On the Job Training was the trip in ABS-CBN which is
one of the leading broadcasting networks in the country. During the trip I was able to
observe the dubbing of Boys Over Flowers. Observing the dabbers, I realized that it
takes passion and dedication to your work before the general public can watch those
wonderful series in our televisions. In addition to the trip in ABS-CBN, we also had a
visit in Unilever Philippines. We observed the people from the Editing Department do
their work. Looking at them, I must say that it is really a difficult task because you must
scrutinize every single detail from the smallest one to make everything perfect.
At the end of day, On the Job Training is a beneficial way on teaching the soon to
be professionals on how to handle things outside school. This entails hardship and
dedication but a good investment in the future. It also guarantees that the students be
trained by trainers that possess up-to-date knowledge and skills of the tasks.
