Cell Handling To protect valuable solar cells
the Xcell 3400 Plus uses proven AccuTrack
string-handling technology.
Induction Soldering Soldering technology,
which accurately focuses the induction field
combined with non-contact pyrometry, allows
closed-loop temperature control (PID) ensuring
outstanding solder quality, uniformity and low
breakage rates.
Vision Inspection High-resolution imaging
of each solar cell ensures that only quality cells
are assembled into a string. Coupled with an
alignment step perfect strings are achieved
every time.

Spray Fluxing Industry-leading spray fluxing

technology means that just the right amount of
flux is used with highly accurate application. This
precision yields less machine contamination and
better performance in down stream equipment.
Controlled Cool Down Improved, precise heat
distribution on two zones of cool down delivers
superior thermal control over the entire string
length.
Integrated Features The Xcell 3400 Plus
includes the capabilities to run three busbar as a
standard. Furthermore, the machine is equipped
with two flux tanks allowing separate control over
each side of the solar cell.

Solar cells are valuable. The Xcell 3400 Plus

is therefore equipped with a strongly enhanced
induction coil. This coil design enables focusing
the induction field more precisely and provides a
gentler solder cycle. This new process feature will
drastically increase product yield.

Repeatable and reliable process results

during manufacturing. The Xcell 3400 Plus
features highly accurate preheated and heated
outer chucks achieving a temperature variation
within 3C relative to the set point, thereby
reducing thermal stress across the solar cell.

Full functionality regardless of compact

space contentions. The Xcell 3400 Plus
provides a newly designed two-zone center chuck
allowing independent control of pre-heat and heat
settings. This is another enhanced feature which
allows controlling the process windows more
accurately.

Solar cells deserve to be handled with care.

The Xcell 3400 Plus operates with redesigned
ribbon hold down weights which are optimized for
improved ribbon management. This extensively
tested enhancement ensures the hold down force
is sufficient yet gentler on solar cells, and helps
maintain proper ribbon placement every time.
