WEATHER PROJECT

Objective: To learn more in-depth knowledge about a weather event through research, experimentation,
synthesis of I.B. connections and presentations.

THE DUE DATE FOR THIS PROJECT IS Thursday, October 16TH


Check Points
10 informal pts. for each check point
September 22nd Option you chose and two sections other than title done.
September 29th Five sections complete
October 6th 7 sections complete and a rough draft of your transcript
What you have to do:
1. Pick a topic about weather
2. Choose ONE of the FOUR options to learn more information about your topic.
3. There will be four check points. December 6, 13, 20 and January 10
3. Complete a peer and self evaluation.
4. This will all be done in class.
Project options:
Educreation:
1. Student will create an educreation presentation that displays accurate information about the research
topic.
2. Student will create a typed transcript of presentation.
3. Things that must be include: cause/effect, how it forms or is created, are there any negative
implications, definition, real world examples, prevalent location, and seasonal.
4. Student must upload educreation onto youtube and bring in the url.
5. Students should make sure the presentation works properly on youtube at school before presentation.
6. Students will create a work cited section using easybib. Include all sites and reference at the end of the
educreation.
7. The information will be accurate, relevant, and show the students understanding of the topic.

PowerPoint/Prezi:
1. Student will create a power point or Prezi presentation that displays accurate information about the
research topic.
2. Student will have a minimum of 10 slides in the presentation. Not including title page and work cited.
3. Student will create a typed transcript of presentation.
4. Things that must be include: cause/effect, how it forms or is created, are there any negative
implications, definition, real world examples, prevalent location, and seasonal.
5. Student must turn in power point presentation or Prezi on google drive before the day of presentations.
6. Student should make sure the power point or Prezi has been received by the teacher before presenting.
7. Student will create a work cited page using easybib. Include all sites and references on the last slide.
8. The information will be accurate, relevant, and show the students understanding of the topic.

Music Video:
1. Student will create a music video displaying accurate information about the research topic with facts
and pictures.
2. The music video must be school appropriate.
3. Student will create typed song lyrics.
4. Things that must be include: cause/effect, how it forms or is created, are there any negative
implications, definition, real world examples, prevalent location, and seasonal (more can be put in).
5. Music video should have no mistakes from the lyrics and should be edited to look presentable.
6. Student must create a work cited section using easybib and have it scroll at the end of the video as
credits. Include all sites and references on a separate page.
7. Student must turn in music video on google document as a URL website.
8. The information will be accurate, relevant, and show the students understanding of the topic.
Webpage/Boardbuilder(DE):
1. Student will create a web-page or boardbuilder displaying accurate information about the research topic
with facts and pictures.
2. The web-page or boardbuilder must be neat and organized.
3. Student will create typed transcript of presentation.
4. The information will be accurate, relevant, and show the students understanding of the topic.
5. Things that must be include: cause/effect, how it forms or is created, are there any negative
implications, definition, real world examples, prevalent location, and seasonal (more can be put in).
6. Students will create a work cited section of the web-page or boardbuilder. Include all sites and
references on a tab of the website.
7. Student must turn in the URL of the web-page or submit the boardbuilder to teacher on a google
document.
8. Student needs to make sure the web-page will pull up at school before presenting.
