User shall be able to set Alarm conditions for parameters. The limit of
maximum 9 parameters selected from 43 parameters can be set alarm
conditions. The over limit value of the parameters and the time of the
event shall be recorded in the meter.

Input /Output

The meter shall accept a power supply input of a wide range, from 100
to 240V ac or 100 to 300V dc with a power consumption of maximum
3W.

The meter shall take a PT primary input up to a maximum of 500 kV ac

and a PT secondary input of 100Vac with a 20% over range factor, or
direct voltage input of 230Vac with a 20% over range factor. The
voltage input should be capable of taking voltage inputs with a
frequency ranging from 45 to 65 Hz. The voltage inputs should be
rated to carry twice the nominal voltage continuously. The voltage
inputs should be rated to withstand 2500Vac for a 1 second duration.
The burden offered shall be less than 0.2VA.

The meter shall take a CT primary input up to a maximum of 9999

amps ac and a CT secondary input of 5 amps with a 20% over range
factor. The current inputs should be rated to carry 10 times the
nominal current continuously. The current inputs should be rated to
withstand 100 amps for a one second duration. The burden offered
shall be less than 0.1VA.

The meter must have provision for taking two digital inputs, which
should be optically isolated. PL5500 IO could provide four digital
inputs.

PL5500 IO could provide two digital outputs and two relay outputs. Two
digital outputs could be used to energy pulse outputs or over limit
alarming outputs. When used as an over limit alarm output, the upper
and lower limit, time interval and output port shall be programmable.

Communication

The meter should support Modbus RTU protocol through a RS485

communication port from the rear of the meter.
